MADELYN MIKAELSON, born as a werewolf as-well as her brother Niklaus. Madelyn was the second youngest of all the Mikaelsons. As-well as her brother Niklaus her existence was proof of an affair their mother had with a werewolf near-by the family's shelter. Henrik was the youngest Mikaelson, and Madelyn was following, then it went to Rebekah, Kol, Niklaus, Elijah, Finn & Unknown to their knowledge, their sister Freya. Madelyn always related most to her brother Nik, even though the affairs weren't known, they still were looked at different from their "father" and treated different.

Niklaus and Madelyn were always the black sheep's of the family, even when no one knew of their werewolf sides. Madelyn was turned when she was sixteen years old, the night Niklaus's werewolf side activated everyone was more focused on Nik, that they didn't notice the same was happening to Madelyn. The Mikaelson family were unaware of Madelyn also being a werewolf like their father. After the death of her mother, and the bounding of her brother. The family figured out about Madelyn also being a hybrid.

Madelyn knew the bounding should've happened to her too, but no one knew of her being a hybrid at the time. Because of this Madelyn always felt as if she owed Klaus. She felt bad that the bounding didn't happen to her as-well, almost as if she had survivors guilt. Ever since that day the guilt chewed at her, making it easy for Klaus to use that to his advantage, meaning he would be sure to have her always by his side, always doing what he wanted her to do for him. And having the guilt represent the youngest Mikaelson, she did what was asked of her, always and forever.

Madelyn stuck by Klaus for the next 1000 years, never left his side, even if at times she wanted to. She felt like she couldn't leave him, she would always help him as he tried to find ways to break the curse under him. She never has sired her own hybrid, because she knew how much it meant to Klaus to be able to sire the first hybrid ever, so she never did it to let him have his moment. As the two tried to find a way to break the curse, Klaus sent Madelyn to Mystic falls to find Stefan Salvatore, and to follow him around in attempts that maybe the vampire would find the most recent doppelganger, or Katrina Petrova.
