Shinobu's POV

"Shinobu-chaaaan!" I heard a bubbly voice come down the hall. After a series of fast footsteps and a lot of yelling, a certain Love-Hashira burst through the door.

"Shinobu-chan!" the sakura mochi-haired girl exclaimed happily, "Do you know what day it is?"

"Uh, Thursday?" I questioned while rubbing my eye.

"No, silly! It's your birthday!" She exclaimed

"Oh, really?" I replied, "I didn't even realize." I've been caught up on so many missions, I lost track of the date... I thought to myself.

"Well, get out of bed and get ready! We'll be spending the entire day together!" Mitsuri said as she dragged me out of bed.

"Alright, alright. I can dress myself," I said as Mitsuri proceeded to drag me to my wardrobe.

"Aw, fine. I'll see you later!" Mitsuri said as she smiled and left my room.

After I got dressed, I walked towards the kitchen. There, I saw Mitsuri in a light pink kimono with a darker design pink floral design, and a black obi with a light pink floral design. I was also wearing a kimono. I was wearing a purple kimono with a floral pattern at the sleeve cuffs and bottom of the kimono. Along with that, I was wearing a solid light pink obi and a purple string to tie it to my waist. The final aspect of my outfit was a scarf with the same design as my haori, which was also previously my sister's. Mitsuri skipped over to me and gave me one of her bone-crushing hugs.

"Happy birthday Shinobu-chan!" Mitsuri yelled out happily.

"Thank you, Mitsuri-san. I appreciate it," I replied although the hug was making it extremely hard to breathe.

"Here! Open your present," Mitsuri said as she let go of me and handed me a gift.

"Oh, thank you! I didn't expect to open a gift first thing in the morning," I said as I started to untie the ribbon. I carefully lifted the lid of the box, revealing a shimmering necklace with jewels formed into the shape of a butterfly.

"Oh, wow, Mitsuri-san...this is beautiful! Thank you!" I exclaimed happily as I wrapped my arms around Mitsuri's neck, pulling her into a tight embrace.

"You're welcome! C'mon! I have a whole day planned for us!" Mitsuri said as she dragged me outside of the butterfly estate.

"Ok, the first thing is a surprise! So I'm gonna put a blindfold on you," Mitsuri explained as she wrapped my eyes with a piece of cloth.

After a bit of walking, Mitsuri took off my blindfold and revealed a beautifully assembled picnic.

"Wow, is this for us?" I questioned while taking in the beautiful scenery.

"Mhm! I made it just for us!" Mitsuri cheered.

"You really are the best girlfriend ever," I said as I went on my tippy-toes and gave Mitsuri a soft kiss on the cheek.

"T-thanks," Mitsuri said as light pink blushed dusted across her face.

We went over to the picnic and sat down, side-by-side. I was leaning on her shoulder as I felt a rain droplet on my cheek. Followed by a few more, it started to rain.

"Aw, man! Is it supposed to rain today?" Mitsuri asked angrily.

"It's ok. Let's go back to the butterfly estate and eat," I said as I started to pack the things up.

"Ok," Mitsuri huffed as she helped me pack up.

The rain started to come down harder so we started to run to the butterfly estate.

"Ugh, I absolutely hate rainy days," Mitsuri groaned as she flopped onto the bed in my bedroom.

"Yeah, me too. But at least I get to spend time with my favorite person in the world," I said as I put my head on the taller girl's shoulder.

Mitsuri giggled at my statement.

"Yeah me too. Happy 19th birthday, Shinobu-chan," Mitsuri said as she wrapped an arm around me, "Happy birthday..."
