We were the Children. We planted. We sang. We repopulated.

Papa said we were one no matter how many of us there were. Our bodies were uniform, smooth and little. Our skin was grey as the sky of Polaris.

The homo sapiens feared us. They ran from us. As they should.

They thought they were gods.

Papa said we only served one god, ourselves, the Collection.

We were stronger, smarter, more adaptable to live and thrive here. They had lost their chance a long time ago with Earth.

Polaris was our home. We were the apex predator of this planet.
