I plunge into the blue waters. It's cold embrace engulfs me, I can feel my heart beat faster, my chest, tight.

Surrounded by deep blue, small silvery bubbles dance in front of me, spiraling to the surface. I can hardly see my own hand in front of my face. The darkness is thick, like a fog I can hardly see through. Surrounded by eternal, thick, blue.

A small current brushes past my feet, giving me a slight shock. I look down, observing something unsettling. Something is moving, fast. The shadows beneath me begin to part, giving space for something to move. It moves quickly. It's surprisingly graceful, like a ballerina.

It moves swiftly, darting about. It's black silhouette is growing. The sudden realisation hits my chest hard, like a hammer swing. It's getting ready for an ambush. I feel my heart start to pound in my chest. My lungs are burning, cries for air. I hadn't noticed how long I'd spent down here.

It starts to circle under me. I need to get out of here, quick. My legs push off, kicking frantically towards the surface. The sunlight penetrates the water above me, quickly now! I look down, catching a glimpse of the behemoth of a beast under. It's scales as large as cars, it's teeth as sharp as a knight's sword. It had a large, tall, fin standing on it's back. Gills at least twice as large as me. Terrifying.

The monster realised that I had begun making my way to safety, and began to swim upwards, it's body accelerating towards me. My eyes widen, my muscles scream, the colour draining from my face.

I break the water's surface, taking a fresh breath of the salty sea air. My lungs, given new life. I clamber onto my boat and hurriedly start the engine, it gives off a small purr as I hear the thundering grunts of the beast below. I hit the engine again, it gives a weak whimper and then roars. Relieved, I quickly step on the pedal and the water rushes behind me. I look behind me, seeing a gigantic-scaled Leviathan burst out of the water, mouth snapping. It crashes back into the waves, defeated.

I was glad I made it out alive, as I head back to shore, however, little did I know that the shadows I saw moving never stopped following.
