As I walked down the corridor my breathing started to quicken. It was dark and eerie, I heard the old grandfather clock tick from downstairs, it echoed through the hall sending a shiver down my spine.
I quickened my pace trying desperately not to panic, the pain in my leg getting worse by the second. tick, tick, tick, tick, the ticking abruptly stops, and I wait for the inevitable, BONG! BONG! BONG!

"Hey~" Kaida waves to me "How's the Cora of my heart this lovely morning?" "What? Why do you always say the weirdest things?" I ask while closing my locker and slinging my bag over my shoulder. "Don't know, it's a mystery I guess. Anyways who cares about that? Today, we are going to... A abandoned house!"
What? Why? "Uhm, we?" I ask raising one eyebrow and looking at him. "Yep, your dad has to work today so why not? It'll be fun, promise." I shake my head as we walk through the door to Math. "Why an abandoned house?" "Because I saw it when me and my mom were hiking and wanted to explore." He explains "My mom and I." A voice corrects from beside us. "Hi Biroe." I greet then sit down at my seat. Biroe is our Arabic friend, his family came to the states hoping for "the good life", but soon found out we were slightly overrated.
School went by like normal, and soon lunch came.
"So about us going to that house, remember to not take anything, or forget anything." Kaida says as we sit at our usual table. "What house?" Hazel asks from across us. Hazel's one of our friends, normal looking girl, hate to say it but a little plain. She's the mom of our small friend group, always keeping us in check.
"They were talking about that before, apparently going to a abandoned house later today." Biroe explained "sounds dangerous, why are you even going there?" She asks genuinely confused on why we would ever do that. "I never actually agreed to it, but Kaida wants to go." I say while stuffing a meatball in my mouth. "You best go then, who knows what would happen if Kaida goes alone. Although you guys just not going would be the best option." Biroe and I nod in agreement. "Well where's the fun in that?!" Kaida exclaims, then continues "the best option is us all going." He points his finger to the ceiling matter of factly. "Nope, not gonna happen. Four teenagers going to a creepy abandoned house is the perfect horror movie start." Hazel objects. "Nah." Kaida shrugs it off with a wave of his hand. "As long as we don't say "is anyone there?" Then we'll be fine"' I roll my eyes and chuckle.
We ate and talked about stupid things like normal.
"I'm serious though." Kaida says looking at Hazel "how does the universe go on forever?" "I truly don't know. It seems impossible doesn't it? This world is incredible, but it might not go on forever we just haven't found the stopping point yet. Also don't speak with your mouth full."
But what's beyond the stopping point? There can't just be nothing, right? What's the meaning of life, is it just to die once our time runs out? The bell signifying lunch was over interrupted my thoughts.
"See you later!" Kaida calls to me as we walk towards our separate classes. "See you!" Great, I'm really going to an abandoned house, fun.
The next chapters will be longer hopefully, I will be slow to update and if you see any grammar or spelling mistakes please let me know. But also please be kind.
