Florence's POV:

Dinner was wonderful, I got to know everyone better. Sam seemed to be on a completely different planet than us, I put my hand on her thigh. She looked over at me and smiled softly

"Are you ok?" I asked as we all made our way to the living room

Sam and I sit on one couch while the others sit in the one across from us

"I'm just fed up with all this nonsense" she sighed

I nodded and put my arm around her

"If you want to talk I'll listen, I'll be here all the time for you" I kissed her cheek

"Thank you very much Florence" she smiled and looked up at me

"I do have one question though," she said

I quirked my eyebrow at her

"Do you want to go out on a date with me?" She started playing with my fingers while looking over at her family smiling at her mom

"I would love to" she nodded but I could tell she was excited

I laughed and looked at the floor thinking to myself

I heard Sam's mom talking to her

"Do you think we can talk?" She asked sweetly

"Yeah of course" Sam looked over and me and smiled

"I'll be right back" she kissed my lips

It gave me butterflies

Sam's POV:

We walked back to the kitchen

"I wanted to apologize for the way we, I treated you for all those years. You aren't a disappointment. I should have been there for you. I wish I had a time machine so I could go back in time to be with you." Her eyes were tearing up

"I tried to leave him, but I didn't have anywhere else you go. So instead of staying and wishing I was better, I called you" she smiled and took my hands in hers

"I know I wasn't there for your childhood, but I'm here now and I hope you will let me" I looked down at the floor

"Of course mom, I'll always have a special place in my heart for you" I hugged her

"I expect grandchildren and a wedding from you and Florence" she whispered, I playfully hit her arm

"Mom! We haven't even gone on a date yet!" I whispered

"Oh come on. I don't expect you to let her go anytime soon. She's the one for you, I can feel it" she smiled and walked back to the living room

I stood there with my back against the counter, thinking about what she said.  She could be the one for me, but what if I'm not the one for her? What if she thinks I'm using her? All these 'what ifs' were running through my head. I didn't even notice Florence walked in

"Hey Sam" she smiled and grabbed a glass from the cupboard

I was still in my head, listing off what-ifs

"Sam?" Florence said again after seeing the look on my face

"Sammie" she waved her hand in front of my face

I noticed and looked at her

"When did you get in here?" I looked at her

"Are you ok? You seem to be in your own world today" she stood next to me

"Yeah of course, just spacing out a lot" I smiled not wanting to tell her what was really going on in my head

"I don't want to push but I'm here if you want to talk" she put her hand on my forearm and left the kitchen

I walked back to the living room behind her. We sat back down on the couch listening to the conversation that was happening

"It was a really good time, I'd like to go there again sometime," Enzo said with his arm around Tracy's hip

"Really? I'd like to go there as well but I haven't had the time" mom frowned

The conversation went on but I wasn't really listening. All I could think about was Florence sitting right next to me. She was laughing along with my family. I was feeling so much for Florence and it was all hitting off the walls in my head

Time skip

2 hours have passed, Tracy and Enzo left as it was getting late, while my mom and Florence were in the kitchen talking. I liked the bond they had

My mom came out to where I was in the kitchen

"I'm heading off to bed darling, don't you and Florence stay up too late" she smirked at me

"Yes mom" I rolled my eyes laughing

"I'll see you in the morning sweetheart" she kissed my forehead

"You might not, I have to get Florence into the office pretty early but I'll be back to drop her off and check in with you" I smiled at her

"So I'll definitely see you tomorrow?" She asked making her way to the stairs

"Yes" she nodded her head and left to go to her room

I walked into the bathroom and went straight to the sink, I looked at myself in the mirror. I look so much like him I hate it. I walked kit of the bathroom and stepped outside

Time skip again

I've been out here for about 20 minutes, I was just looking up at the sky watching the stars

"I've been looking for you everywhere Sam!" Florence said once she made it out the door

"Sorry, I just needed some air" I kept my head up, still looking up at the sky

"I know I said I wouldn't push but you've been in your own since we got here. Talk to me" she looked up at me

I took a seat next to her and put my head on her shoulder, she wrapped her arm around my body.  My thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations. My brain wouldn't stop.  There was too much in there for me to keep track of, they were all jumbled together

"I'm just worried about my father" I dug my head further into her shoulder

"I'm sure he'll be fine, he might have some brain damage but that's not bad" she rubbed her hand up and down my arm. It was very calming sitting out here with her, when I'm with her my brain slows down and all I can think about is her

"That's not what I mean," I was playing with one of the holes in her jeans, she was shivering

"Let's go inside" I tried getting up but Florence held me down

"Not yet. Not until you talk to me. However, you feel for your dad is ruining your thoughts, I can tell you're worried Sam, I can see it on your face" her voice was calm and quiet

"I'm just so scared that he's going to try to hurt me by hurting you, I care about you too much to lose you" the silence was too much for me to bear. Florence nodded her head

"I'll be ok as long as I have you here with me" she smiled and nudged my arm

"Ok, come on. We're going to bed" I laughed at her

"You're gone crazy" I got up and took her hand, she laughed and followed me to her room

It was a nice room, it fits her personality. We both got in the bed and pulled the covers over ourselves. Florence put her head on my chest while I wrapped my arms around her body

"Good night Florence" I kissed the top of her head

"Good night Sammie" she whispered and smiled
