The night like every other, until it wasn't, my name is Connor and I was on a walk through the woods next to my home town, nothing much was happening in my life, same old single life of every teen, bullied and picked on whilst hanging with the only friends I have, dating the odd girl who would play me around, ruin my life, same old same old

Anyway, so there i was, walking, headphones in listening to some metallica, when I look up and see a bright light, normally I'd shrug it off as a plane or star, but this felt different, so I did what any other curious kid would, and ran toward it, the twigs and Bush thorns slicing at my arms and face as I gritted my teeth through the pain, still running, eyes focused on the light that felt mere feet away when In fact it may have been further. The more I ran I could feel my lungs struggle to take more air, I had to stop, but my legs wouldn't let me, controlling themselves to keep making strides forward, I glanced up to the light again and noticed it was ontop of me, I stopped and narrowed my eyes, I remember the thought in my head "oh my god move" but instead my eyes were focusing on the details of the light, I could just make out a human shape, but it had something behind it, was this an it? A they? I couldn't see enough but I saw some orange toward the top of it, before I could make out anymore I finally realised... it was coming down right toward me! I jumped as far as I could away, smashing my head off the mud covered ground, promptly knocking me out.

My eyes slowly opened, vision refocusing from the hazy blur of being shut for too long, a figure stood over me, once my vision fixed it was a girl, my age,

"Are you ok?? I was..I was jogging through the woods nearby and I saw you lying here! I was scared you'd been dead, no way am I being blamed for finding a dead body"

Her voice was shaky and slightly high pitched, I sat up to look at her, She was small, with ginger hair in a messy ponytail ,in a long white shirt and white patterned leggings, glasses slightly bent but still sitting on her face, my eyes properly focused to see she was worried, big doe eyes and little nose

" i must've hit my head, jumping away from the light coming at me.." I responded in a disoriented manner, "thank you for coming to check on me, even if you thought I was dead" I chuckled slightly as I spoke

"Its ok, its always good to help one another, thats what I was brought up on, be nice to others, they will be nice back in the future, I have no idea what light you're talking about though, its night and dark, no lights in the sky or around" she answered back to me, causing her facial expression to change from worried to confused, just as confused as I was when I looked around to see no damage to the terrain around me

"Right.. I must be so alone im losing my mind and seeing things" i laughed off my confusion with jokes, like I normally do. "Thank you so much again miss?"

"Oh just call me hattie, I've just moved here, so you'll see me around alot more if you're a normal walker" she smiled at me, somehow making me feel safe, I looked at the time, my body filling with dread as it was an hour past me being home, I shot up, stumbling slightly

"Thank you so much Hattie, I need to get home, ill be seeing you around" I smiled, waving, sprinting back home, stumbling again here and there, getting home, much to my parents disappointment.. yep, I took the out so late on a college night talk, but as soon as it was done I was upstairs in my room, surrounded by my games and figures and random crap, unable to get the interaction from tonight out my head, over and over again, and her face... I remember every detail..

I drifted off to sleep with my TV on and dreamt of the night, ready for college, you never know what can happen next..
