EPISODE ONE : THE ESCAPE
(yeah so I wanted to write a fun short story, so here it is :))
Mumbai.
"Anuj aap yeh kaha le jaa rahe hai humko?", Anu asked sighing as Anuj drove grinning.
"Ha woh bhi iss Ravanraj ke saath!", Devika said eyeing Vanraj to her right with contempt.
They were in an Omni van. The Shahs and Kapadias had come over for some good time in Mumbai. Anuj had come up with this genius idea and was now driving the van to some god knows what place.
"Aacha? Mai Ravanraj hu?!"
"Nehi aap toh bas pata nehi kyu hai!", Anu said in annoyance.
"Bhai ever wondered what will happen if Kavya got to know we kidnapped Raj on this trip?", Malvika said sipping her frooti casually sitting on Vanraj's left.
"Ha! Hey Kanha ji! Agar usko pata chal gaya ki aap aise do ladkiyon ke beech baithke ghumne gaye hai toh shayad suicide hi na kar le.", Anu said looking genuinely concerned.
"Kaash kar le..", Vanraj mumbled, heaving a sigh.
"Aapko bas kabhi santushti mil hi nehi sakti.", Anu said irritably, she looked at Anuj who was busy smiling smugly as the drove in the rising sunlight.
"Aur aap! Inko laane ki zaroorat kya thi?", Anu said irritably.
"Arrey Anu darling Vannu aur mai aajkal besties ban gaye hai.", Anuj said grinning.
Anu looked at him and then at Vanraj who was suddenly very interested in his shoes.
"Besties? Waah!", She said exasperated.
"Anuj tum bhi na alag hi ho.. dosti bhi apni girlfriend ke ex se..", Devika said grinning.
"Kya karta Devika.. Mere liye Vanraj last night 3 baje ice cream khareed laya.. Dil jeet liya by God.". Anuj said grinning.
Devika looked at both Anuj and Vanraj with annoyance.
"Anu yeh kaise kaise ladke hai teri zindagi mein?", Devika said sighing in disapproval.
"Aacha woh sab chodo.. Bhai hum jaa kahan rahe hai?", Malvika asked finally.
"Mukku baccha.. Hum log jaa rahe hai wahan jaha saare middle class shaadi shuda aadmi jaana chahte hai-"
"GOA!", Vanraj said excitedly.
"Oh yeah baby!", Anuj said with more excitement.
"Oh no baby!", Anu said in annoyance, "Wahan Baa, Bapuji, GK kaka mere bacche sab ko akela chodke hum yahan Goa jayenge? Mujhe wapas jaana hai!"
"Anu kitni badi bore ho tum yaar!", Vanraj and Anuj said in unison.
"Oooo! Ab aap dono baatein bhi ek saath karte hai? Waah!", Anu said crossing her hands before her and looking at the empty roads and rising sun.
"Anu.. Anu darling suno na..", Anuj said softly with his classic charming smile.
"Hmm.."
"Bohot mazaa aayega..", Anuj said softly.
"Ha Anu aur hum mauka dekhke Ravanraj ko samundar mei dhakka de denge.", Devika said laughing.
Vanraj sighed.
"Aww.. Nehi mere Raj ko koi kuch nehi karega.. please..", Mukku said grinning and rubbing his shoulder.
"Raj Uncle, Mukku!", Anu, Devika and Anuj said in unison, breaking into hysterical laughter.
Vanraj facepalmed regretting his life decisions, as always, as Mukku too joined into the laughter.
"Ab samajh aaya inko kyu lekar aaye..", Anu said grinning as Anuj winked.
