waking up this morning, Slim could barely move her lower half. not only that, but she was exhausted.

the last thing she wanted to do was limp around work, but she was going to get her money regardless. she'd already hit her goal of ten thousand, so she was back to working her normal thirty hour work week at Walmart and pick up shifts whenever at Calypso.

her eight hour shift was finally over and she couldn't wait to go home and lay under Scoob. all day, she'd been having flashbacks of last night and the only thing she could think about was him.

she understood she was playing a dangerous game, letting herself catch feelings for Scoob, but she didn't care. a small part of her knew there was no way he couldn't share the same feelings—especially not with sex like that; she was just going to wait until he spoke up first to avoid rejection.

"yo, Slim!" she heard Jamal's deep voice call behind her as she headed for the exit. turning to look at him, he was doing a little jog to catch up with her. "lemme walk you out."

"uh, thanks, but youn gotta do that. my ride is right outside," Slim hesitated. she knew Scoob was going to have something to say if he saw Jamal since he did when he first saw them talking.

"i want to, let's go," he smirked, using his hand as if to lead the way.

"thank you," Slim said, but in her mind, she just wanted him to walk away. she didn't understand why he refused to take a hint, but she wasn't going to be rude because they worked the same shifts and saw each other frequently.

"so, you gone finally gimme your number or what, Slim?" he asked, licking his lips as they walked out of the door. Slim instantly spotted Scoob's car and got nervous.

"i gave you my instagram, Jamal. ion give out my number to coworkers," she lied.

"you be playin like ima stranger. youn answer your dms. i'm tryna get to know you, love," Jamal flashed her smile.

Slim thought Jamal was a nice guy and all, but he was not for her. she didn't want anyone, but Scoob—even if they'd never be in a relationship, she only wanted him.

"ion date coworkers, though," Slim said, looking at Scoob's car from her peripheral. although she couldn't see him through his tints, she knew he could see her.

"what about friends? we could chill sometime," Jamal tried to reason. he'd been trying to get close to Slim for awhile now, but she always shot him down.

"ion know, my best friend don't like me havin other friends," Slim shrugged.

"they'll be aight, so what you say, love?" he licked his lips and Slim fought the urge to roll her eyes.

Jamal wasn't bad looking at all. he was tall and muscular Jamaican man, with dark brown smooth skin, a full beard and medium length locs. he just wasn't for her and as many times as she tried to put him on with Kyla, he wanted her.
