Hecate couldn't wait to get her cast off in two more weeks. It had been a month since she had been raped. Her physical wounds had healed but the mental ones were present. She was getting tired of having to do a waterproofing spell each time she cleaned herself unless she did a shower spell. Pippa, humorously enough, was tired of it because it made cuddling difficult in her opinion.
Hecate was going to teach her students a healing potion today, one that did not use moonlace so it wouldn't trigger her in front of fifteen young witches that needed their teacher in peak performance. She hummed quietly as she pulled out the ingredients one by one. She heard a knock at her door and then it opened. She could tell who was at the door without having to turn around.
"What is it, Mildred Hubble?" Hecate drawled.
"I just need some ingredients to refill my potions kit, Miss Hardbroom," Mildred responded.
"How do you already need more? Those kits were refilled last week in class," Hecate said.
"Me, Maud, and Enid might have tried to make our own spell," Mildred admitted sheepishly. "It wasn't dangerous, Miss Hardbroom."
Hecate chose that moment to look up at Mildred. The poor witch had bright pink hair, a shade Pippa would have been jealous of. A wave of her hand and Mildred's hair was back to its normal color.
"Thank you, Miss," Mildred said. "Am I in trouble for it?"
"No," Hecate replied. "Not this time with exams in about a month. You would do best getting as much studying in if you wish to remain here at Cackle's, Mildred."
"I promise I will revise," Mildred responded. She gathered what she needed. "Miss Hardbrrom, why were you crying that one day I stayed in the classroom?"
Hecate sat down at her desk. "Mildred, several weeks ago, something traumatic happened to me. That is all I wish to say on the subject. Leave."
Mildred left. Hecate didn't want students to know that she had been raped. All they needed to know was that it had been something traumatic that had happened to her. Even then, Hecate wasn't sure if she should have told Mildred knowing that Mildred would tell Enid and Maud, with Ethel likely overhearing and then going around the school.
Hecate gently put her foot onto the ottoman she had transformed for herself from a spare cauldron just after she had broken her leg. The leg was hurting again and she needed a pain relief potion, although she needed to brew a new one. Her stock of it was running low.
She summoned the ingredients that she would need along with a cauldron. She began to brew the potion she needed for the spell as her students began to file in and sat down at their work tables. Hecate felt the most at ease when she was brewing potions. Hecate told the girls what they were doing for the potion. It was going to be a simple cramp relief potion. A couple of girls looked visibly pleased when Hecate told them that they would test them on their own in the privacy of their hutches.
She listed the ingredients that they would need and set them to work while she worked on her own potion. Cramps relief was in high demand and was often one of the last few potions she would teach to her students before they graduated Cackle's Academy at the end of their fifth year. Most of the girls needed the potion at least once during their time at Cackle's as many of them began to develop into young ladies during their first year.
Hecate bottled her potion once it was finished. She would take a dose of it when class was over because she didn't like students seeing her in pain. Her students were soon done with their potion and she had them bottle a few samples for themselves. Hecate would have to make a large batch of the potion for next school year at the end of the summer holiday. She couldn't wait to go back to her quarters and relax. Pippa was going to be coming to talk with her.
-
"Hello, Pipsqueak," Hecate greeted from the couch. She was resting her leg after taking a dose of a potion to make her more comfortable. Pippa sat down on the couch. Hecate sat up more to hug her girlfriend.
"Hi, Hiccup,' Pippa replied. She hugged Hecate back and relaxed in her arms. "This is different but I like it. What's got you so affectionate today?"
Hecate cracked a smile. "I had a rather good day except for Mildred naturally. I told her that I have trauma," Hecate admitted.
"That's a really big step in your mental recovery, Hec," Pippa said. She smiled. "That's actually something I want to talk to you about today. Your bad days outnumber your good days so I think you might want to seek some mental health services and have them help you. Ada and I won't be the best therapists for you."
"I know you're not a therapist but you're easier to talk to than a therapist," Hecate responded. "But you are most likely right. I should seek help so I can get better. I want to be the best for my students. They won't learn anything with an incompetent teacher."
Pippa nodded. "I don't want to talk about it right now. You're here to cuddle me," Hecate continued. Pippa grinned.
"You're turning into a cuddle bug, Hiccup," Pippa teased, hugging the taller witch. Hecate laughed for the first time in a while.
"I don't think I am," Hecate responded, a smile playing on her lips. Pippa kissed Hecate's cheek and settled in between Hecate's legs so they could cuddle.
"Will you at least think of getting mental health help?" Pippa asked.
"I promise that I will, Pip," Hecate replied. "I want to get better but I'm not sure how. Will I need to go to a non magical person for it?"
"No, you won't have to. It can be done through the mirror," Pippa answered. Hecate smiled and relaxed again, holding her girlfriend but she was apprehensive about going to therapy.[] hello all! I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Hecate is finally going to be receiving help and I will do my best to represent it as accurately as I can.
