i was walking back home, when i arrived i was ready to get scolded by my mother.

"y/n! where were you? at this hour? did you even feed yourself today?"

"i did... i just went for a walk."

"you know what, i don't have the energy to be mad at you right now. are you kids ready for school next week?"

"yes mom, i have my new supplies."

"good, and you junior?"

"yeah..."

he said, still focused on the tv.

"okay, well i'm making dinner. it'll be ready in a few."

"thanks mom."

i said, as i walked upstairs.

i got a ring on my phone.

it was a message from miriam.

miriam: hey girl wna hang with us tmrw???

i smiled, and then replied.

me: ooh sure wut we doin?

miriam: not sure yet maybe go to the mall?

me: sounds funnn i'm in i'll text u tmrw ttyl

miriam: adios

i closed my flip phone and walked downstairs again.

the dinner was ready, we all sat down and ate.

when dinner was done i went straight to sleep.

the next day i had hung out with the group of girls. it was so much fun i really felt as if i was connecting with them.

and thankfully they go to my school.

the days went by and now it was saturday, first day of school starts tomorrow.

i was super scared, but now that i have new friends it was less scary.

i went to sleep that night soundly until the morning arrived.

i walked downstairs, the smell of burned waffles filled the kitchen floor.

"shoot! my waffles!"

i heard junior yell.

i shook my head and put my supplies in my back pack.

then i packed my lunch, and made myself something to eat.

i texted miriam.

me: hey mir is it cool i call u that? anyway where u wanna meet today @ school?

shs responded quickly.

miriam: yea that's fine everyone calls me that and let's meet @ the front lockers u'll see when u get there c ya

i only read it and ate my food.

my bus arrived pretty soon so i just ran out the door and on my bus.

once i got to school i took a deep sigh, and went in.

i looked around, these look like the front lockers.

i scanned around and finally saw them.

"guys!"

i yelled.

"hey!"

they all said.

"woah, love you outfit. that's so cute, where'd you get your necklace?"
