If I was dying on my knees
You would be the one to rescue me
And if you were drowned at sea
I'd give you my lungs so you
could breathe

The first night Minho
didn't sleep alone in his bed.

Because he didn't sleep in his bed
nor did he sleep at all.

He couldn't.

He couldn't lay in the bed
without his husband, knowing
that it'd stay like this from now
on when everything still smelled
so much like Jisung.

Everything reminded the ravenette
of the younger, all those nights they
had shared together on that mattress,
snuggled close to one another and
whispering sweet promises that
were damned to be broken.

Whenever he dared to close his eyes,
all Minho saw was Jisung.

His husband's beautiful face,
his huge sparkling eyes and
his precious heart-shaped smile.

He could still feel his hands
cupping those soft chubby cheeks,
caressing the warm smooth
skin gently.

But he couldn't endure that.

Minho couldn't endure seeing,
feeling Jisung when he wasn't and
would never be here anymore.

So he stayed awake although
the tiredness ate him alive.

He had laid down on their couch with
Yeorum and Chunhwa in his arms,
watching his children sleep all
night until the sun rose again.

Seeing their peaceful faces after
all these tear-filled days soothed
Minho's aching heart a little,
he just hoped that they were
able to escape the sad reality
for a moment.

"Papa.."

Chunhwa mumbled softly
as she nuzzled her face against
her daddy's chest, her tiny hand
grabbing tightly onto the fabric
of his hoodie.

"Hi baby, hey little one"

Minho whispered and placed
a small kiss on her head.

It had been only her first word
that day and the ravenette's
heart was already bleeding,
still or again?

Maybe both.

The tiny girl yawned cutely like
the little squirrel she was and her
daddy couldn't help but caress
her chubby cheek gently.

"Hm.. Daddy nom.."

"Oh, you're hungry, sweets?
Is it time for breakfast already?"

But Chunhwa just sighed as
she closed her eyes again,
leaning into her father's
gentle touch.

Yeorum was still deep asleep
but Minho was thankful for that,
the small boy still looked so
exhausted even though he
had already slept probably
nine hours.

On the other hand the ravenette
couldn't stand up like this
without waking his son,
it was a tricky situation.
