Prologue

Year 2023

I never thought 'Love at first sight' existed.

It looked like a shallow concept to me. Falling in love with someone at first sight. I thought it was all about looks and face. My views on love were different. Love won't happen just because of good looks. You gotta know that person to love them wholeheartedly. To accept them. It might sound philosophy but yeah, that was what I thought.

Until him.

Choi Soobin.

I fell in love with him at first sight. I liked everything about him. The way he smiled. The way he talked. His personality. His eyes especially which talked more than him. The moment I saw him, he tugged my heart strings. As if I had been waiting for him my whole life, that kind of movie vibe. If HYBE had allowed girl groups to debute under them at my time, I would have gone for that company just to see him.

But, Soobin didn't spare me a glance. He made me feel so invisible that I made sure to shine brighter than anyone else. For him to see me. It didn't work though. He never looked at me. Never.

Now as the member of the new SM girl group, TRINE, I stared at him. He was so close to me yet so far. Seeing him smile. Not to me but to someone else. Greeting everyone but me. It hurt. More than I thought it would. So I went to strike a conversation with him. Today he would see me.

"Sunbae." I came in front of him, and he stopped. His eyes looked through me. He didn't make an eye contact. I would have thought that it was him being shy if I hadn't already seen his interactions with other female idols.

"Congratulations on your debute." Soobin was polite. He didn't give me his dazzling smile. Just a blank stare. "Do you need any help ummm-?"

He didn't even know my name.

"Miyoung. My name is Miyoung." I swallowed the bile coming up my throat. "Stage name Bianca."

"Do you need anything?"

Yes, I want you to see me.

"No." I stepped around him. "I was just looking for my members. I saw them now. Thanks." Then I walked past him to my group members.

My members looked happy. We had our first award show stage today. I was supposed to be happy. My dream came true. I shined brighter than ever. But, I wasn't. I wasn't happy. I couldn't be. My eyes went to Soobin again. He was talking to our seniors Midnight Blues. Soobin listened to their music in his vlive, but never to us.

We were under SM Entertainment too. Debuted in October this year. I was crowned as the most beautiful idol of the fourth generation (don't ask me why. I hated myself). People saw me, loved me. I did everything I could to reach here. For Soobin to see me. Look at me. Smile and laugh at me, with me. He never did.

As if he felt my eyes, he turned to glance over his shoulder. Our eyes met for the first time in my life. Then he looked away so fast that I was sure my desperate self imagined it. I couldn't help but ask then.
