"Lemme do it" Melo tries taking a lighter from Zo
"No cause you gon do some stupid shit" Zo snatched it back and set a firework on the ground
"Bruh, I'm a grown man. Lemme do it" Melo snatches the lighter and pushes Zo out the way. He leans down and ignites the lighter. The flame runs along the cord of the firework for a while before the string catches fire and burns.
Melo lets out a screech and starts running away with a big smile
"He's the biggest lil kid I have ever seen in my whole 21 years on this earth" Jelly mumbles
"Ri- " the string reaches it's end. A loud boom floods my ears, and a flash blinds me
"Melo what the fuck" Zo yells
"Y'all shoulda ran. The fuck. You good, Dee?" Melo pats my back as I rub my ears
"Nigga you put it upside down" Zo continues berating Melo
"Nigga you the one that put it down. Shut yo ass up" Melo flips him off and shakes my shoulder
"Ni- Stop shaking me bruh"
"You good tho?"
"Yes Lamelo"
"Is this how you get when you're mad?"
"I'm not mad" I shrug and push him off my shoulder
"Anyways, I'll be taking over firework duties now" Zo pushes Melo out the way
"Man shut the hell up, yo old crippled ah" he mumbles while pulling me further back
"Come sit with me" he pulls me over to a blanketed area on the grass by everyone else
"I was gonna check on Jel-" he sits on the blanket and pulls me into his lap "Oh, okay. This is cool too"
"She is staring daggers, if she don't believe it she gon convince everyone else" Melo grabs my neck and whispers into my ear. I smile and sneak a glance at Jhay. Indeed, she is staring hard while whispering with Evoni
"Why is she doubting us?"
"Us? Nah, she doubting you. Probably think you a gold digger or sumn"
"I told her I was heir to businesses" I slide out of his lap to sit next to him
"Maybe she just don't like your vibe? Either way if she don't fuck wit you the family not going to either"
"Why she get to decide for the whole crew?"
"Cause she one of the only girls and likes to get her way. She chill people when you get to know her tho"
I sigh and roll my eyes
"Just relax" he rests his head on top of mine to watch the fireworks

"You cheating" I yell as Melo continues winning somehow. It was around midnight and we were all sitting in the dinning room playing UNO. It was the third time in our row of games that Melo had called UNO and was about to UNO out
"I'm not, I'm just too good. You wouldn't understand" Melo smirks and waves me off
"No, you cheating bruh. I swear you sittin on cards"
Melo stands up and shakes his chair "Where?"
I huff and sit back in my chair "You n-" a red piece sticking out of his pocket catches my eye
