Context: The party was together a week ago having a party (haha get it. The party having a party.) and Max kissed y/n and they haven't talked since.

Max's POV

I'm sitting on Els bed while she's talking to me.

I don't know what she's saying.

All I can think about is y/n and our kiss.

"Max. Max!" El says, trying to regain my attention.

I snap out of my thoughts and look up at her.

"Sorry. I was just, thinking. About stuff." I say.

"Max. You don't need to pretend. I know you were thinking about y/n." She tells me.

Fuck. Is it that obvious.

"You need to talk to her." She says. "She misses you like crazy. She told me herself."

"I really wanna talk to her. I just don't know what to say." I tell her.

"Just... act like you normally would around her. If she's actually your friend she won't care if you like each other or not." She says.

"Ok." I say. "When should I go see her? Tomorrow?"

"Today." El tells me. "You need to see her today."

"But what about our sleepover?" I ask.

"We can always have another one." She says. "It's been driving the whole party crazy that you two won't talk to each other."

"Ok. Should I tell her I'm going over?" I ask.

"No. Just show up. She would have a nervous breakdown and try to script what to say if she knew you were coming." She tells me. "Just flow with whatever happens."

I take a deep breath and grab my stuff.

"Ok. I'm actually doing this. Holy shit. Ok. Ok.  Bye." I say, exiting through her bedroom door.

"Let me know how it goes!" El shouts from her room.

"Will do!" I shout back from her front door.

I leave the cabin and take another deep breath.

Here we go.

*time skip*

Y/n's POV

I've been trying to read my book for school for an hour but I can't focus.

I'm only thinking about one thing.

Max.

As much as I miss her, we shouldn't see each other.

It would be to awkward.

I pick up my book for the gazillionth time in the last hour when the doorbell rings.

It's probably my mom coming home from the grocery store.

I jump off my bed and run to unlock the door.

I open it up and I don't see my mom standing there with her grocery bags.

Instead, I see Max.

We stare at each other for a while.

"Hi." She says.

"Hi." I reply.

"Um... can i... come in?" She asks.

"Oh yeah. Sure, cmon in." I say.

We walk to my room in and sit on the bed.

We sit in silence for a while.

Until Max says something.

"So... how've you been?" She asks. "I haven't seen you in a while."

"I'm good. How about you?" I ask, trying not to be awkward.

"I've been better." She says.

"Oh. What's wrong?" I ask, genuinely concerned.

She takes a deep breath.

"Listen y/n, I don't know about you, but what happened last week has been the only thing on my mind." She admits.

I sigh.

"I'm glad it wasn't just me." I say, looking down .

"I have no clue how you felt during that kiss, but I know damn well I felt something more than friendship." She tells me.

I look up and our eyes meet.

"I want to be able to kiss you all the time, and not just in the middle of the night when we're half asleep in Mikes basement." She says.

We stare at each other.

"You... want to kiss me... all the time?" I ask.

"Yeah." She says. "Yeah, I do. I really, really like you y/n"

I'm speechless.

Max placed her hand on my cheek and inches her face closer to mine.

"Is this... ok?" She asks.

"Yes." I say. "More than ok."

She smiles and pulls me in for a kiss.

It's the second best moment of my life.

The first was meeting Max of course.

She pulls away and smiles.

"I take it that you feel the same way about me as I do about you?" She asks.

"Yeah. I think it's pretty obvious now." I say.

We may down on my bed and I rest my head on her shoulder.

I couldn't have asked for today to go any better.

I'm sitting in my room, alone, with Max Mayfield.

My girl.
