"The total is $14.23." The cashier lady said while staring at me and making direct eye contact.

She was staring for too long. "My change please?"

"Oh! I'm sorry!" A look of embarrassing plastered on her face.

I grabbed it from her after side eyeing her then walked out.

Dee smacked his lips when I came to the car. "Man why you get the honey kind?" He said when I came to my car.

"That's the best kind." I shrugged before going over to the driver side to get in. "Worry about pumping my damn gas."

"Shut up nigga." He said getting in the car. "Where we slidin' to?"

"WE not slidin' nowhere. I'm 'bout to drop you off then to my crib for a min." I said starting my car up and speeding off.

He smacked his lips. "We supposed to be going to Illinois tonight nigga."

"And we gone get there. Get out my damn car." I said pulling up to his house.

"Aight nigga, don't forget." He said opening the door stepping out. I nodded.

I pulled off seeing he went in before pulling off making my way home.

"This why I hate getting on here with y'all niggas, just stupid." I said taking my headset off laying back in my chair.

I got a text message from Instagram making me grab my phone. Some girl replied with heart eyes making me click off and text back a couple minutes later.

As I was watching people's stories I clicked on one of my homeboy's little sister's story. I skipped past the ones of herself and stopped on one with her a someone else.

She was with the same girl I saw at the store. I don't know why every time I think this but she is gorgeous. I chuckled and liked her story.

I turned my phone off before shutting off my light then lighting up a pre-rolled blunt.

"Ki?!" Leah called out to me from her room.

"What?!"

"Come here right quick!" I smack my lips then grab my plate with my sandwich on it making my way to her room.

"Yeah." I said sitting on the bed.

"Do you know him?" She asks showing me the boy from the store's Instagram.

I shook my head no. "Who is that?"

"My brother homeboy, pisses me off everyday." She said rolling her eyes. "I was just asking cause he like my story with me and you on there and I know he wasn't liking it for me."

I shrug my shoulders taking a bite out my sandwich. "Why you got a hoodie on?" I ask.

"Girl it's freezing." She said scrunching her face up. I stare at her.

"It's the beginning of June." I said pushing past her.

"And we in the house with the air on stop talking to me ki." She said laying down. I rolled my eyes before going to the living room to eat and watch tv.

I hear someone opening the front door and snap my head that direction. It was Leah momma.

"Hi momma." I said cheesing at her.

"Hi my kiki." She said taking her shoes off at the door. "See Monica I told you my daughter would be here.

Why every time I look up her and my momma on the phone. They been best friends for a long time.

"Tell her I need her that I need her to go by Ms. Yolanda house to drop off this cake. Her son gone be there cause she gone be stuck at the church." I heard my momma say.

"She hear you girl." Momma J said.

"Awe well yeah." My momma said. "I love y'all I'm finna go lay up bye."

"Love you bitch." Momma J said making me chuckle.

"I'm boutta go lay down don't stay up too late baby." She said kissing my head.

"Goodnight." I said pulling the cover over me and laying down.
