The Unbearable Loss - (By David Hurt)

Only the eyes of a loved one,

Truly knows what it is to lose

A son,

A daughter,

A grandson,

A granddaughter,

A nephew,

A niece,

An uncle,

An aunt,

A brother,

A sister,

A father,

A mother,

A grandparent,

Or a friend...

Especially in

The unbearable,

Useless act of War...

The unbearable,

Useless act of man...

To those

Who know not

Of what these feelings convey.

Pay tribute in a moment's silence.

Wrap your arms round those

Who grieve.

Look out for the veteran,

Who eats from discarded waste

And bleeds to be heard...

Your kindness is all they ask,

Your remembrance;

An infinite embrace,

In words

And in thoughts...

Your words

And thoughts,

A warm comforting poem...

A kiss of humanity

And love...
