The young girl cried, as her mother had just
slapped her in her face. She was only 9 years
old. She hadn't understood why her mother had
hit her while she was just excited to play in her
soccer game. "Don't roll your eyes at me Ava."
Her mother screamed at her. "I didn't, I swear!"
The girl pleaded and flinched as her mother
whipped around the front seat to look at her.
"You're always so ungrateful for what I do for
you. I woke up at 10 in the morning to take you
to this silly soccer game. You should appreciate
me!" The girl cried in the backseat, her older
sister had sat there quietly looking out the
window. She had already known how this would
play out, her younger sibling would do anything
and her mother would slap her in the mouth.
She had wished to help but she was only a year
older and she didn't want to get hurt either. The
younger sibling stopped crying but was still
visibly upset. The two girls exited the car while
their mother had stayed in the barely working air
conditioned car until the game was over. The
girls had lost and the youngest had already
forgot about the incident this morning, she was
just excited to play her favorite sport. The girls
went home to their dirty house, as their mother
refused to clean, as well as would not work,
living off the government. The girls didn't want to
clean their room as their mother kept taking
donations of toys to try and make the girls happy.
Their room was a wreck, having slept on a
wooden bunk bed with cheap 50 dollar spring
mattresses their whole life, they felt comfy when
laying down for bed. In the morning the kids
were playing peacefully but loudly in their room,
when they were disrupted by their mom's angry
footsteps. "Clean up this mess right now!" The
mom screamed as her two kids' moods
drastically shifted. "But mom we're still playing."
The younger of the two girls calmly responded.
The mother got angry and stormed out of the
room. An hour later the girl's uncle appeared
screaming at the girls, threatening to spank them
if they didn't start cleaning. The two girls were
saddened, the youngest being targeted more.
The mean uncle picked up the girl and bent her
over his knee. He pulled her pants down, and
started hitting her butt over and over again, as
the 9 year old cried and screamed. After a couple
minutes the youngest was let go and she
immediately ran to her older sister for comfort.
The two adults left the girls, as they finally
stopped wanting to play, and picked up the
scattered toys. This was their childhood, with the
youngest being targeted more, for simply looking
like her deadbeat, druggie father, with her tan
skin, underweight body, hazel eyes, and dark hair
whereas the oldest looks like their mother,
pale, overweight, blue eyes, and dirty blonde
hair. The animosity the mother held against the
small younger girl, was noticeable.
