Parker should've died that night and the whole world knew it. He was an innocent bystander, shot through the heart with at least three bullets and somehow, by some Gods miracle, he pulled through.
But everything came at a cost.

"Do you think we could get a cat?"
Not only was Parker terrified of cats, or rather allergic but thought himself to be immune, but the idea of having to look after yet another living being gave him a fright.
Isabel and Parker both, without missing a beat of the drum, shook their heads with such a might- they could've given themselves a headache.
"Wha— why not?!"

The heavily pregnant Hanna exclaimed, a heavy set pout forming on her lips. If Parker had been alone with his newly-wedded wife, he'd sure have been looking for a way to stop her from creating floods of tears. In ways he'd have to quickly figure out-- but luckily for him, Isabel was there to be the momentary anchor he needed.
"What if the baby has an allergy like Parker, or if it attacks it!?" Isabel theorised, the tears forming in Hanna's eyes quickly disintegrated.
In replace of the pout was an angry scowl. Despite not owning a cat yet, the sadness had turned to hatred towards something they didn't own. If pregnancy hormones were something women faced every day, regardless of a foetus growing or not— Parker would definitely go back to living with his brother and dad without a question.
"I just really hate cats."
