"HAPPY BIRTHDAY" i yelled at my two best friends
"thanks D" javon spoke bringing me in for a hug
"yeah thanks delilah" jaden spoke
i don't know if my minds playing tricks on me but jaden seems extremely off lately
"you okay jay?" i asked looking into his eyes
"yeah um i'll talk to you later" he said walking up the stairs... odd right? when your best friend since forever starts acting weird and won't tell you why it's scary.
"wanna what time will you're friends be here" i asked javon
"in about an hour" he smiled
"okay well i'm so sorry to leave you hanging but i think i need to talk to jaden" i sighed
"yeah just come find me before the party" he smiled at me before i walked up the stairs to jadens room
i knocked on the door "come in" i heard jaden mutter
opening the door i asked "hey jay, you okay"
"yeah D, i'm cool" he spoke not looking up from his phone
i went to sit next to him, i grabbed his hat off of his head, putting it on mine, laying my head on his shoulder
"you don't seem okay" i whispered hoping maybe he wouldn't hear me
"i don't know, here lately i've been feeling a lot of things i've never felt before" he continued to scroll on his phone
"like what, you know you can tell me anything" i reached my hand up to play with his hair
"yeah but this is the one thing i literally can't" he turned his phone off looking at me
"i don't wanna push you, but i promise i won't judge you, and you know i don't break promises" i smiled at him
he laughed "yeah once when we were like 8 i hid your favorite blanket, and you promised you'd get me back and like 5 months later you hid my glove before my game and after the game when you gave it back i asked why you hid it and you told me it was because i hid your favorite thing so you hid mine"
i laughed "i so remember that i literally didn't sleep for so long"
"im sorry, but what eight year old can't sleep without their blanket" he laughed
"hey!" i slapped his chest "you bought that for me and i literally don't think i've ever loved you more"
"ouch" he laughed "you love me equally every damn day"
"nope that day i literally realized you were my favorite person and ever since then i've never been able to look at you as just my stupid best friend" i smiled at him
it's true jaden has always been my best friend but i don't think i can remember i time where i wasn't insanely in love with him
"your my favorite person too delilah" he kissed my forehead
"what did you eat for lunch?" i asked him
"oh i had pizza, it was so good" he smiled
"yeah we're you saving some for later?" i laughed
"yeah actually, it's in the fridge. did you eat it" he frowned
"no jay" i gigged "you have sauce on your face" i sat up licked my thumb and wiped it off
"oh shit" he laughed
"your such a goof" i smiled laying my chin on his chest looking into his eyes
he smiled down at me "you know i love you right"
