A Tormented Rose

Chapter 2

Reynold's POV
As Yvonne left to go shopping, me and Derrick went inside fathers study to greet him good morning. We were talking about Yvonne's birthday that is coming up in a few weeks. It seemed not too long ago that she was a little girl crying for some sweets. Yvonne will debut when she is 18 and then proposals would come flying straight to our door. After our meeting was done, I left the study room to go back to the knights training hall. As I start arriving to the training hall, I caught a glance of new weapons arriving at the knights training hall. Excitement coursed through my body waiting to try out a new wooden sword. It's been my dream to become a great swordsman, so I've been training really hard to reach my dream. I've been training for at least half the day by now, now I'm returning home so that could I see a happy Yvonne return through the main gates happily from going shopping. The knights training hall is quite far from the mansion, so I kept going the long way so that I could see Yvonne carriage just coming through the main gates. As I was turning a corner I could hear the screams of the maids panicking, I looked everywhere to see why the maids were panicking but couldn't find the main reason. A few seconds later I hear one of the guards scream " OPEN THE GATES", I then notice that it was Yvonne's carriage that was speeding to the main doors of the mansion. I started running to Yvonne's carriage, only to see her getting out of the carriage with no help from guard, but what shocked me was that the other guard that was with her came out of the carriage after her carrying something or someone. I  wasn't able to see what the guard was carrying as it was covered with the guards cape. As soon as they entered the mansion, I slowly walked to the carriage and looked inside. I was terrified at the sight when I saw blood on the floor of the carriage, as it kept trailing out and into the mansion. I ran as fast as I could to father's study and when I got there I opened the doors of the study only to get weird looks from my brother and father. It didn't matter what type of looks I got from them but I had to tell them that Yvonne something or someone that a guard was carrying which was leaving a trail of blood.

Duke's POV
My son Reynold had left the study leaving me and my eldest son Derrick, we continued to talk about the business that we were doing with other families. Then we were discussing about Yvonne's birthday that will be in a few weeks, it's better to plan early than on the day before her birthday. It took about a few hours, I look outside the window and start to see that the sun was slowly going down. It's almost time that Yvonne gets back home from her first experience from going outside the mansion. As we were going to call it a day, Reynold comes running into the study with a face of panic.

First POV
The Duke and Derrick were shocked seeing Reynold with the face of panic, but as they were about to speak Reynold dragged the two of the out of the study and took them to the stairs where they see Yvonne and a guard going to the guest rooms. They Fennel gathering some maids and called for someone else. The person he called for was a female physician, they all left to the guest room as fast as they could. The three that were watching them went down the stairs quickly but quietly, walking through the guest room hall they could see Fennel and the maid that he gathered including the female physician. The maids and the physician had entered the guest room that they were surrounding, as they asked for what was wrong, they could her Yvonne's voice through the door that was shut.

Reynold POV
The door closed right after we got close to guest room, but instead of going in we waited for them to come out so that we could go in. It took at least half an hour to hear some of the maids scream from inside the room. I was about to barge into the room until father had grabbed my arm and insisted we wait outside. I was mad but than calmed down, we heard Yvonne scream "what was wrong", it stayed quiet for a few minutes. I was still worried for my little sister on what happened just a few hours ago. An hour later the maids were dismissed by Yvonne, as the maids are leaving the room they spots us and were about to greet us til father had stopped. "What is going on in that room said the Duke". One of the maids responded " The lady had brought someone who was heavenly injured". I was shocked, to think that my sister would bring someone into our household ( The maids didn't specify who Yvonne had brought). Silence took over the room and the maids looked quite worried. I then broke the silence and asked one of the maids " Why did Yvonne's Physician go into the guest room". The maid replied " The lady had scraped her knees when she fell, but the main reason why the lady's physician is in the guest room was that the person that the lady brought had many open wounds all over their body". After hearing that, the door had opened and the physician came out of the guest room and greeted and bid us farewell. I could see Yvonne with a shocked face as she yelled Father. Father had rushed into the room to see this person but Yvonne looked scared and tried to hold him back. As Yvonne was holding him back I took the opportunity to go see this person that Yvonne had brought. I looked at the person who I thought was a boy was actually a girl with magenta hair laying on the bed breathing softly, trying to recuperate from her wounds.
