His Mom lead him towards a hospital room on the third floor where some of the most expensive private rooms was. He was confused and scared, he didn't have any idea what happened to her, but he prayed she was fine.
They stopped in front of the door as Seongmin read the name card beside the door.
' 김단비 ' his heart shattered just by seeing her name.
His heart beats more faster after his Mom had opened the door, leading him inside.
There his heart broke, seeing Danbi with some life support attached along her bed as she was given new bags of blood. She looked more paler than how he used to.
She layed there with an oxygen on her mouth, helping her to breath properly with her eyes close. She looks so peaceful while sleeping.
❝ just wait for her to wake up, I have to take care of some patients. ❞ his Mom told him, patting his shoulder as he nodded in response before she finally left.
He look at her again, seeing her state made him teared up. She had dark bruises all over her arms that he can't even get to see before as she would always wore hoodies.
Seongmin took a seat on chair beside her bed.
Slowly holding her hand, he tried not to wake her up. But then he saw tears slowly coming out from her closed eyes as a word left her lips. ❝ I'm sorry Seongmin... ❞
Her voice was faint because of the oxygen mask she was wearing but he could still hear it clearly as a tear also traced his cheek.
❝ what happened? ❞ he asked first, she didn't open her eyes as she continued to tear up. ❝ why are you here? Are you sick? ❞
Danbi turn her head to see his face, finally opening her eyes. ❝ I love you... ❞ she held his hand tightly. ❝ can you stay here tonight? ❞
He nodded his head in response, caressing her head, making her smile under the mask.

While Danbi was sleeping inside her room, Seongmin tried asking his Mom what's wrong with Danbi as she didn't mind telling him everything. He also told his Mom that Danbi was the girl he would always spend time with on the playground cause she likes stars.
He also told her that she was the girl he likes.
❝ Danbi had been suffering Blood cancer since she was 15... and that was 3 years ago. ❞ she told him as Seongmin can't even eat the food his Mom brought him as they sat on the hospital's cafeteria. ❝ she had undergo treatment since then but none of them works, it just gotten worse as time passes by until she decided to stop and just follow wherever her time would take her. ❞
❝ her platelets has been getting lower and lower this past few days and that's why she didn't get to meet you on the playground. Her cancer cells are rapidly spreading across her body and she's already having a countdown to live. ❞ his Mom told him.
❝ once she told me she's not scared to die, she said she's ready and stopped taking blood transplants. Until that one dayㅡ she told me she's scared to leave, she's scared to be leave someone. And I guess that person was you Seongmin. ❞ he teared up on his Mom's word. ❝ she wants to live more because of you. ❞
❝ and I'm really sorry to say this, I don't want this to happen either. ❞ his Mom said, making him look up meet her eyes that was now full of concern and guilt. ❝ I think she can't last until the last days of december. ❞
