His Lifeline

C H A P T E R 2

Anger was taking over the guy while the other 3 came out of the jeep. He was fuming would be an understatement.

'Do you know who I'm?'

He asked her clenching his fist and jaw. Trying to control his anger not to burst out on this poor soul

'Don't you know who you are why are you asking me?'

His jaw dropped to the floor. A girl, a mere girl who is like 8 inches Shorter than him is disrespecting him, The Manik Malhotra like this. His anger reached the 7th sky

'You girl'

His knuckles turned white. Blood and adrenaline rushed in him. If not for his morals he would have hit her so hard that she would not wake up again

'Oh just shut up! Okay'

The girl in Nandini's arms was laughing so hard at Nandini scolding Manik. Manik noticed it and the most purest smile came onto his face. He put his hand on the girls and lovingly said

'I'm sorry are you hurt?'

The girl smiled at him and replied

'It's okay I'm good'

That little smile almost made his day. His anger vanished into thin air.

The kid smiled to Manik and asked Nandini to put her down. When she did the kid reached to her worried mother and brother who were looking for her across the street

'And you'

Manik was about to tell something to her but before that he noticed her. Beautiful features, silky hair reached up-to her elbow, full sleeve black shirt which was tucked at her elbow made her pale pink white skin glow more.

'Yes, she is the same girl'

He thought. He noticed the bag on her shoulder and the ID in her neck which read Nandini Murthy

He looked down to her knees which caught his attention as it was bleeding due to the hit previously

'Oh my God! You are bleeding'

'Huh? what?'

Nandini questioned and followed his gaze and looked at her wound and realized it now.

'I'm so sorry it's my mistake'

That again shocked his friends from when did the Manik Malhotra start apologizing to people?

'It's okay thanks for concern'

Nandini turned and started walking slowly towards the bus station next street. Manik offered her a ride which she refused saying

'I don't want to die in a jeep with such a reckless driver'.

Manik understood that she is going to taunt him like this though he apologized.

'Is she going to taunt me like this my whole life?'

Manik thought in his head. His subconscious snapped at him

'Whole life?'

'Obviously I'm not letting her get away. I finally met her'

He thought.

Manik went home with concern for his girl who was bleeding badly and Nandini went home with a memory of a sweet girl

That night before going to bed Neha received a call from Mukti. She was face timing them. They spoke to each other about their day.

Mukti told them that she was seeing someone for a date tomorrow while Nandini shared her day with both of them.

While Mukti was speaking to them Manik happened to pass by. Nandini was busy showing mukti her new bracelet at that time and Neha was seeing that bracelet too so they did'nt notice Manik. But when he saw his angel on the screen he was surprised

'Does Mukti know Nandini?? I think I will ask her tomorrow'

Thinking this Manik went to is room filled with Nandini's thoughts.

'My guardian angel I finally found you'

He spoke to himself looking at a hair tie. He smiled thinking of her. Her kind nature, her features and everything about He was flashing in front of his eyes.

He fell asleep thinking about the angel hoping to dream about her again
