I read a story once, it was about a swan

the swan lived in a lake with another one, they loved each  other so much, and promised to always be there

but one day came the humans, haunting every animal,

the two swans felt so scared, so they decided to hide, but where? in this vast lake it seems like there's nowhere to hide.

that was when the other one hugged her mate  goodbye and then swam away, the swan knew that she will sacrifice herself

so she swam after her, faster, and faster, and then she started crying, because she knew she wouldn't be able to change her mind, and then, she lived lonely until death.

"a story about a short love", the book cover said, and that made me wonder,

did the swan love her mate because she thought her lovable, or did she love her not to become lonely?

maybe she loved her just because there was no one else to love, because it was her only choice.

maybe it wasn't love, maybe it was just because she got used to it? maybe she didn't know how to be on her own, maybe she didn't want her world to miss a thing?

I don't know. but i still think that's a good question.
