Coming Back to Always and Forever

3. Klaus

   I open my eyes about to get up, but see Hayley in my arms asleep. I am laying behind her, hugging her. I debate getting up and leaving, but lean in closer, and nuzzled my head to her neck. I was able to smell her, this sexy smell, strong but sweet like her. She turned around hugging me, her face a few inches from mine. Her lips were so close, that I could feel the kiss of her breath. I could easily lean down and kiss her.

   She started stirring up, about to wake up. She slowly opened her eyes and looked at me, she had this look that took my breath away. She was about to say something, when suddenly Hope woke up. "Mom? Dad?" She said sounding panicked. "We're here," we both said at the same time.

   Hayley turned around and hugged our daughter, while I lied there not knowing what to do. "We're here, don't worry," I could hear Hayley calmly telling our daughter.

   I decided to just hug them both. I could feel Hayley tense up, but relax instantly.

   I looked at both Hope and Hayley in my arms. "Are you guys leaving again?" Hope said, still hugging us. "No, we'll never leave you again," I said to her, hoping it was the truth and we wouldn't be apart ever again. "We'll fight before we ever leave you again," Hayley said, her voice breaking because of the thought that our daughter was left alone.

   Hope pulled back and smiled at us. She looked so grown up, but she was still my littlest wolf. I can't believe I left her all these years, what if what I did was the worst decision I could have made, maybe I should have let Elijah take my place in sacrificing himself for my daughter. Maybe she wouldn't have suffered this much if I hadn't left her.

   Hayley started pulling away from the hug, and took Hope's hand. "Hope?" She said softly. "Yes?" Hope replied, unsure on what Hayley was going to say. "Are you planning on activating your vampire side?" asked Hayley. Which was something I had forgotten, I only noticed that bastard talking badly to our daughter.

   Hope looked at her, like she had already made up her mind. "Yes, I want to become a trybid," she said with this determination in her eyes, I don't know for what. "Why do you want to do it?" asked Hayley. "Umm...it's because I want to defeat Malivore," she replied. "Malivore? What is that?" I asked, not ever hearing anything about that.

She stopped, thinking on what she could say. "It's this thing that's s like a pit that eats supernatural creatures, it was created by a witch, werewolf, and vampire to defeat dragons and other creatures that were hard to stop. Once Malivore takes you, everyone forgets you," she said, with this look that said she had already experienced all that. "Dragons? They are are real?" I asked in disbelief,  since they are all a myth and part of stories told to children,  or at least I thought they were.

   "Yes, and many other creatures that people thought as fairytales. They were all just forgotten because they were eaten by Malivore," she said . "Wow, and I thought werewolf, vampires, witches and other mystical being were enough, what's next, are you going to say unicorns are real too," said Hayley. "Umm...yeah, I actually saw one," she said. I couldn't help but look at her in confusion and disbelief that these creatures were real, I have never, not even once thought they were real, why would I, they have always been fairytales, and I never believe in fairytales, but if I, a hybrid was real, someone that make the impossible possible, then I guess these creatures should be real.

   But I can't stand around and let my daughter risk her life. "Have you been fighting these creatures your entire time here," I asked her, barely able to contain my anger. "Yes, I am the only one that can defeat him, it is the only way I can protect the school and the world" said Hope. "You're not doing it," I said already angry. "But dad-" I could hear her saying. "I won't let you do this, I can't have you risk you're life, we can leave this creature to the people here, you don't have to take this responsibility, I won't let you do this," I told her. I could feel Hayley's hand on my arm, I looked down at her and she pulled me close to her. "Klaus, I know you want to protect our daughter, but she has to make her own choice, and we have to stand beside her when she makes these choices," Hayley said. "What if she gets hurt Hayley! Do you really want to put our daughter in danger for these people, we have to protect her," I told her. "Of course I don't want to put her in danger, and we will protect her, we will be fighting besides her, we won't let anything happen to her," she said. I took a deep breath, and knew that I wasn't going to win against them, and if I tried anything, I would just distance them from me and make things worse. "If you're going to do this, you have to be sure. This is your choice Hope, but me and your mother will have to be with you. I know how it feels for someone to make the choice for you to repress a side of yourself, so it should be your decision to have your vampire side," I said. "I will call aunt Freya so she can help me with turning on my vampire side, are you both going to be here with me," she asked. "Always," we said together. "Okay then I am going to go call aunt Freya so she can come as soon as possible, and then we can go have breakfast," she said already standing up to call Freya. "Hope, we can't stay here for breakfast," Hayley told her. Hope look at me and Hayley confused. "Your mother is right, we have to go, we will come back," I told her. "Are you guys leaving again," she said. "No, we are staying here in Mystic Falls, we have a house here and will come back with Freya, I will call her and tell her to come don't worry," I told her already about to call her.

Hope looked at both of us, she walked to us and hugged us both. "You both won't leave me again, right?" She asked reminding of when I left her as a child many times. "We will never leave you again Hope," replied Hayley. We hugged for few more moments and said our goodbyes.

I was already regretting leaving Hope here. I can't believe that she hasn't been able to live her life. She has had to live fighting and having a childhood that is no better than I or Hayley's. I will help her and Hayley so we can have a better life, one we're we aren't constantly fighting and having to look behind are backs if an enemy is close. I will help them and keep them safe, even if I have to burn the whole world down.
