Dark drips dribble down my window pane
As I draw the deep red curtains,
Shutting out the dreary damp
And rippling waves of warmth across the room.
I slunk across the carpet,
The fuzz fondling my feet
As soft towelling hugs my waist.
I slip it off and pull back the cover.
How glorious! The warmth of my body beneath the blankets!
My eyelids flutter
And I,
Drunk with the delirium of drowsiness,
Sink into the sheets
