Seaweed

Once there was a girl who loved the sea. She loved it, and the sea loved her too. She sang to it, telling it about life on land, and it sang back, singing the song of tides, waves, underwater creatures and magic. On land her legs were next to useless, rarely letting her stay upright. She collected shells and put them on her window sill, staying up late listening to the secrets the sea told her. She longed to become a creature of its depths, a water girl. The sea knew this, and when the sea claimed her, she went to it joyfully, as if it was a long-lost friend.
