I Deserve This

All she could see were spikes on a disgustingly familiar wall, as she stared at the corner of the equally familiar room it belonged to.

Vanya wanted to get out of that room, more than anything. The room that had always been like a jail cell to her, even when she was too small to understand it.

But now, Vanya did. She completely understood.

Yet, somehow, even along with the negative swirl of emotions and thoughts she was feeling, she made no attempts to escape her metal cage.

She just sat.

Letting her nails scrape against the painfully cold floor.

Letting her thoughts, her despair surround her mind, letting it fester until there was nothing left.

I deserve to be in this room. I deserve every SECOND of my suffering.

They all must think I'm a monster.

I hope they do.

I hope they don't even think of me as their sister anymore.
