Chapter 1

ONCE I HAD KNOCKED ON THE DOOR OF THE SALVATORE HOUSEHOLD I then stood and waited for someone to answer. When someone finally did I was met with the face of Damon, and once he recognised me his features turned from annoyed to soft

"Tia, what are you doing here?" He asked, his tone laced with confusion. But I had been trying to hide my tears away for so long that as soon as I saw him I just couldn't hold them back anymore

"She- she kicked me out" I sobbed and immediately damon was pulling me into his embrace, his arms moving around me
"She gave me money to travel here and told me never to come back" his arms tightened at my words and what sounded like a small growl left his lips. Damon always hated my mother and what had happened wasn't helping with what he thought of her

"That bitch, come on let's get you inside" he picked up my bag and threw one of his arms around my shoulders before directing me inside his house

"Who's at the door Damon?-" Stefan's reaction was slightly more entertaining. His mouth dropped open and his eyes widened in shock
"tia? What's wrong? What are you doing here?" Damon let go of me and allowed me to hug Stefan. He was confused to see me, worried from the sight of tears running down my face but I could tell he was still happy to see me

"Mother of the year kicked her out" Damon said not hiding his distaste in my mother at all

"What- why?" He asked still keeping his arms around me

"She couldn't look after me anymore, she wanted me gone so she could do more stuff without having to worry about me" I mumbled into the fabric of his shirt keeping my answers fairly brief. I didn't want to go into too much detail with my mom
"Can I stay with you guys? If not I can go somewhere else- its just till" he let go of me and put his arms on my shoulders allowing me to look into his eyes

"Your staying. But I want you to be careful, Katherine's here in mystic falls" he said firmly

I remember the time when I first learned about Katherine form when I was filled in on the supernatural and I knew that whatever happened I had to stay far away from her, because chaos followed her wherever she went

"Oh, okay I'll keep an eye out"

"Ill have to enroll you in school" stefan announced. He was always more of the responsible one whereas damon didn't care as much

"Wait. she knows about Katherine?" I heard a new voice I didn't see in the room before. We all looked to see a blonde girl on the couch, sitting there with wide eyes at the three of us. I assume she's their friend since neither of them had lunged over to kill her

"She knows about everything Caroline. Tia this is blonde. Blonde this is tia, our niece" Damon introduced us and after she sent me a small welcoming smile her face just scrunched up in confusion at his words
