My heart dropped. But I could hear it beating in my ears. my breathing slowed as my body tensed. I could feel the darkness in my stomach. The darkness my mom told me to hide from the world.
I can't hide it anymore.
I look up to the king and queen, staring them in the eyes. next thing I know, my palm is pointed at them as what looks like ink pierces their skin, pulling their hearts out of their bodies.
I look over to my mom, terror and fear written on her face, mixed with what seemed like disgust.
I stand from where I was sitting, leaving the dining room and out a hidden door in the hallway. my face burning as tears threatened to escape my eyes.
I looked around quickly and started running for the forest. I could already hear the yelling, the guards trying to find me, maybe to kill me. I can't go back right now, maybe ever.
