❲ CHAPTER FIVE!
the distorted reflection

ㅤㅤThe sea had always been endless. Its riveting waves tickled at the sole of Lim Seolhwa's boots; stretching across the horizon and seeping slowly into her being, creating fluctuating waves that washed over her emotions. The morning sun twinkled over the blanket of water, shedding a bit of its colour into the sea's gray lifeless body. Lives, lives, lives that lived beneath the cold water, free and fearless as they basked in Lim Seolhwa's unknowns. Lives that lived beyond the sea, on the other side of the earth, oblivious to this rising homesickness that settled in her stomach, tickling at the back of her throat.

The sea was painted in the hues of the rising sun, shards of the sunlight shattered on the push and pull of the gentle waves. An abusive palette of reds bleeding into the clean ocean, white clouds drifted along the two mirages. Lim Seolhwa snuggled deeper into her cream coloured scarf, hands turning into fists inside her coat pocket. She was overtaken by the sea, turning into a translucent being.

Unbeknownst to the girl herself, her friends watched the sea beckoning to her, like it was calling for something it had lost (or was it she who beckoned the sea, it was hard to tell). She tore her eyes away from the psychical representation of her emotions. Ham Dan-I seemed to struggle with the same problem.
