Everyone knows how Susan does not believe in superstitions. She just laughs whenever she hears people frightened by a broken mirror, an upside down bourse shoe, but most of all Friday the 13th.
"It's just any other day! What is even the big deal about it." The idea of one day being 'special' just because it happens to be on a Friday truly confuses her.
But today was not like any other day for Susan. One thing you should know about her is she NEVER messes up. She has never gotten a speeding ticket, never gotten food poisoning, and especially never even been a minute late to work. But this morning, when she was driving to work she suddenly ran out of gas. She had to walk to the gas station, which was a 30 minute walk there and back. In her fear and stress she forgot to call into work, and this frightened her coworkers. They knew that she would tell them unless if she was hurt so they called the police and went on a search for her.
