Chapter Ten

"Eric when last did you see your dream girl" Lionel asked smiling at Eric
"Who ?"
"Her majesty Chloe the perfection"
"Hey!, don't joke around with her "
"I'm sorry my king, so Eric you changed alot , like so much" Lionel said
"How ? "
"Umm... will i say you are changing to be Chloe's spec, or will i say you just want to be a good boy" Lionel teased him
"I have been a good guy is not something new, and I'm not trying to be Chloe's or any girl's spec"
"So you don't know you changed alot, ok you now bend down and focus on your office and companies, other than picking girls around the town"
"I don't feel like seeing any girl, and yes If I'm changing not because of Chloe" Eric said
"Okay, I'm here to see how things turns out to be " Lionel said
"Better"
"Eric , who were asking to taste her food"
"Is nobody"

"You didn't tell me you were coming Anita" Chloe said
"Yes, i didn't plan to come , i came to see  my sister in_law she fell sick , she leaves around"
"Oh!"
"Yeah, how are you doing , you look good"
"Thank you, I'm on leave ,no stress , no calls" Chloe said
"What about Helena ?"
"she traveled to Ikeja to see her fiancé parents" Chloe said
"Okay, i will be going now , i dropped by, i have many places to go "
"Okay, see you when work resumes" Chloe said
       
"Ma'am, I'm done washing the" the gatekeeper said
"Okay,the keys"
He handed over the keys to her
"Ma'am
"Yes
"Yesterday evening someone came looking for you
"Who ?
"A guy
"Did he tell you his name
"No, but he left before i could reach you,but ma'am are you expecting anybody "
"Not at all. Can it be Eric ? she mumbled
"Ma did you say anything "
"No, go to the kitchen , i dished out your food already"
"Thank you ma"
"Welcome, tell the gardener to come for her salary, i forgot about it "
"Okay ma"
"I will be in my room"

Chloe's phone r**g
"Hi! Helena"
"So if I don't call you won't either"
"Ellie , please at least you called '
"Ok, how is your mystery man "
"Which man ?"
"Eric of course "
"Jezz! How do you expect me to know , I'm not his girlfriend "
"Anyways i sent some stuff , it will delivered tomorrow "
"Okay, Anita came "
"I have been asking her to come around ever since"
"Ellie i will call you later , someone's is at the door"
"Okay, bye"

"Come in!"
"Ma you sent for me "
"Alice you didn't remind me of your salary"
"I'm sorry "
"Please next time remind , you know I'm always busy to keep your salary in mind "
"It won't happen again ma "
"Alright, your final exams are next week right, so you will be going on a break for while , this is your salary"
"Thank you ma"
"Just read hard , so you will find a better job and call me if their's any problem"

"Amen , the gatekeeper will take back to school when you are ready"

"Welcome"

" I have been indoors for two days now , i will get sick if care is not taken, i will go to the store so i can pick up some few things, that's when Helena's stuff arrives" Chloe said

Is morning already, Chloe has woken up already , received Helena's stuff. She was about to leave the house, when the rain stormed her, it was bucketing down . She went back angrily , because she already planned to go out and pick some stuff in her office . The gatekeeper came into the house to lock the windows , when he was done , he went to turn the generator ,Is Nigerian  when is raining the power goes off. Chloe was changing her clothes when her phone rang, it was Eric ,she hesitated in receiving the call .
"Good morning Eric"
"Why did you take time in answering the call"
"Is this why you called me ?, Because I'm hanging"
"Chill Chloe , you always angry"
"I'm not ,till the day i met you"
"Chloe, maybe you should try letting the past go ,you are a counselor you should know better"
"I would have let the past go , but how can i ,when the past pops out anytime i  try forgetting about it"
"Anyways , it's raining cat and dog outside , i hope you are safe"
"If I'm not i wouldn't have received your calls "
"Okay, Chloe can you be friendly at least 1% of it,i know you are not anti_social"
"Eric!!"
"Sorry, just stay safe "
"Thank you"
She hunged up
What kind of man is this, i don't know why his my biggest problem now. Next time he calls i will tell i have forgiven him , so he can stop getting on my nerves . How dare him call me anti_social , me!.
     

When she got to her kitchen, the gatekeeper came
"Ma, you said i should drop Alice at school for her exams"
"Yes"
"So i thought about , filling the gas, so i can take it to Tesse "
"Yeah , that's true. Thank you for reminding, just let me know so i will the money for the gas "
"Yes ma"
"Umm... The guy you said visited ,how does he look"
"His not too dark, either too fair , tall , neatly cut beard and he came with a white lexus ,he was wearing a black suit "
"Seriously ,i can't imagine but anyways , that's by the way"
"Okay ma"

I'm not sure if it was Eric , if it was him , he would barge in. Like he enjoys invading people's privacy. Is not as if i care either .

Chloe finally went to the market, and few things in her office. The traffic was too much and she was very hungry, so decided to follow a short cut, so she got to an Estate her car stopped suddenly, she came down to see what happened but couldn't get a trace, she couldn't get to his gatekeeper , neither Helena's mechanic. She bought snacks to ease the hunger, she called her secretary but she was not taking her calls
"Seriously!!!" She yelled
"Hey!, Chloe"
"What!!!, Eric!!, are you stalking me "
"No "
"You are telling me this is a coincidence"
"You can say that"
"What are you doing in my Estate"
"Your Estate!!"
"Yes,after this house, the next is mine. Did you come to see me"
"Hell no!!"
"Hey! calm down "
"Can you leave me alone i need to think"
"Can you at least tell me what happened"
"My car suddenly stopped "
"Chloe, the weather is changing, meaning is going to rain , can i call a cab for you"
"No"
"Please"
"No!"
"Okay, remember my house is the next house there"
"Please, go"
"Bye"

After a while, it started raining heavily. She went into her car , she was feeling cold. Eric came out with an umbrella he knocked on her window, she opened the window.
"Chloe you are shivering"
"Yes , is my problem"
"I don't like this your attitude "
"Neither do i like yours"
"Come inside please, we can argue after then"
"You know why I don't want to come inside ? , because I don't trust you one bit"
