Another entry to the university creative writing. Enjoy. :)
Eyes wide open, you admire the world;
a pair of hazel in which I see emptiness.
I recognize it, seeing it mirrored
by mine own. I am nothing but a mess
embraced by the darkest night.
You shine brighter than a star, no less,
having seen the void; survived alone in every fight.
Forgotten memories of all we've been through
I swear an oath to now remember.
Playing life like a piano with keys askew,
we waltz together; our hearts, burning embers.
An empty ballroom with just you and me
hand in hand, dancing to be free.
The edge is near, and so is the fall.
I swear to hold you close through it all.
