Y/N's POV

I sighed as I threw my keys onto the counter and realized how quiet the house was. Veronica was supposed to be home by now, i thought. Veronica is my wife, she and I have been together for about seven years. Girlfriends for four years and wives for three years. In the beginning of our relationship it was absolutely amazing.

We met her at orientation in college and when we first made eye contact, I was immediately head over heels for her right then and there. We started talking real quick and next thing I knew was two months later I had asked her to be my girlfriend.

I was sure that we were gonna be together forever.

Apparently the universe has other plans.

About two years into our relationship, I had noticed her being a bit off and very distant, and it was all because I found out she was fucking my best friend. Who was a guy, might I add.

After two days of her begging and apologizing to me, I forgave her because I genuinely thought she could change.

But hey you know what they say; once a cheater, always a cheater.

But I'm an idiot and have stayed with her after she cheated on me three times. I stayed because I was stupidly in love with her. She was my first everything, so I listened to my heart and not to my head.

Now I'm fucking miserable. Stuck in a loving but very broken marriage.

Anyways, enough with the story time. Let's come back to now.

After going up the stairs to check the bedrooms to see if Veronica was there just to see that she wasn't, I grabbed my phone from my bag and dialed her number.

"Hey it's Vero! You know what to do." I scoffed and shook my head. Of course she wouldn't answer.

"Uh yeah, where the fuck are you? You literally told me we were gonna go out. Did you forget? It's our anniversary today." Right forgot to mention that today marks our third year anniversary of our wedding, hooray!

"Yeah I'm not surprised you did, but you know what, you have fun wherever the hell you are." I hung up the phone and threw it on the couch. I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair.

This was not how I was expecting today to go. I had so many plans just for it to get ruined. Like always.

I made my way over to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water to drink and then made my way back to the couch, where I picked up my phone and texted my best friend, Scarlett.

Y/N:
Soooo I'm starting to think that
the universe is so against me
at this very moment 😑

Scarjo 🌸
Let me guess, she wasn't home?

Y/N: WOW SCAR! HOW'D
YOU KNOW?!

Scarjo 🌸
Oh I don't know, maybe because
it was expected?! 🤨
Nothing new from Veronica. You
should know this by now Y/N.

Y/N:
Oh I'm sorry, for once I just thought
that my wife would actually remember
our wedding anniversary without
having to remind her!

Scarjo 🌸:
Well you're an idiot for
thinking that.

Y/N:
Geez, you're really not helping
right now Scarlett. Aren't
you supposed to be my friend? 🫠
