She'd explained before, how it felt. With the pressure building up. It started in her lungs and then spread throughout her body until she felt like collapsing. Her mind would go blank and her eyesight would go fuzzy. It felt like her stomach was being turned inside out again and again. Alana had explained what it felt like to experience one of her nightmares, and from what everyone else understood, it was torture. They mostly came at night, her nightmares slipping out of her mind and into reality. They never happened during the day. Her demons would terrorize the streets of New York City, walking with no mercy and a taste for blood. She was free of her demons then, the ones that reminded her of the many pinpricks of blood to gushing fatal injuries she'd felt on a daily basis. She was meant to spend the rest of her life with purple bruises along her ribs and blood pouring past her lips.
Her fate didn't lie with the universe, but with her parents. The same parents that died when she was five, and left her to be traumatized by disgusting men until she was eight. When the famous Black Widow found her in a cratered building, the world stopped spinning. Time slowed, particles froze, the only two things in the world were Natasha and Alana. Agent Romanoff recognized the little girl instantly. She was a mirror of Olivya Elliot, another Red Room ballerina. When Olivya had escaped the Red Room, she'd left Natasha with millions of questions and only one answer: find S.H.I.E.L.D. Natasha left the prison with an eight-year-old Alana in her arms. From then on, that little girl was hers. Hers to protect, to raise, to train, to care for. Alana was the daughter she couldn't have, and didn't truly know if she wanted.
According to the gods of Asgard, Alana's mother was saintlike. She'd been referred to as an angel, helping those that needed her the most. Olivya didn't stay an angel for long. Her once pure and brilliant white wings had been stained by Koryn's dark touch. Alana's father was the thing everyone tried to prevent her from becoming. He was a dark and evil soul, a true villain. His life had been spent with yellowish bruises and scarlet stab wounds from his various evil deeds. Koryn's life was the thing Alana wasn't supposed to have, yet it was the direction she was heading towards.
