Charles had everything worked out. Go home, relax with friends, get his head down and focus solely on the biggest year of his career so far.

Then Lilly arrived and, literally, knocked all sense (and air) from his body.

Lilly has plans for her trip and potentially getting her heart broken by Formula 1's biggest rising star is not in them. She's had one heartbreak too many and engaging in a love affair with an international sport star can only mean adding one more.

But Charles has never been one to take no for an answer.
Especially not with things he really wants (even if the girl wants nothing to do with him).

"You really want to pretend this is nothing?" I blink blankly at Charles, his throat bobbing with a heavy swallow as I nod slowly. Unsure.

"It's nothing." The words leave me flatly, I can't meet his stunning eyes when I say them. Instead I'm playing with the gold bracelet locked around my wrist.

If I mean the two words so much why does something feel so wrong about saying them outloud?

"We'll see about that Lilly Carter."

"I don't date - but even if I did date, I wouldn't date an F1 driver."

"I've been dying to hear your voice again."

"So we're all just in denial now?"
