first stage: he cannot figure out the emotion he is feeling, so his horns are flashing different colours at once. and he is twitching rapidly, and very vulnerable in this state. so you could punch him and he would literally do nothing about/have no reaction to it.

second stage: he becomes very dangerous, and he's much more powerful, and violent in this stage. i can promise you probably won't survive when he's in this state.
