Love and Drugs| Chapter 20: Welcome Baby Girl

My doula was helping set up my birth pool.

D'john was on house arrest so I decided to have a home birth.

I groaned.

"Come on Kapri, I know you're ready baby girl but you hurting me." I said walking slow.

"Ma what you doing?" He asked.

"Getting ready to have this baby obviously." I said.

I groaned.

He mimicked me.

"D'john move cause I'm about to beat hell out of you it's not funny." I said pushing him.

"I'm sorry ma." He said kissing my forehead.

"Don't worry the water is gonna make it more ease and less painful." My doula said.

"I hope cause she's kicking my ass right now." I said.

"That means she's ready." She said.

I got in the water.

"She's gonna have a lot of hair." The doctor said.

"D'john you getting in here with me." I said seriously.

"Why wouldn't I." He said making a face.

"Stop being a smart ass." I said annoyed.

My mom called D'john's phone.

"D'john let me see my baby." She said.

"Here she go ma." He said.

"Hey babyyy." She said.

"H-..hey." I said struggling to get the words out.

"Aww they didn't give you anything baby girl?" She asked.

"No.. it's a natural birth so I'm not on any medication." I said.

"Where you at ma?" I asked.

"I'm on the way." She said.

"Monique coming?" She asked.

"Nah her and Shayla in Atlanta." D'john said.

"Aww aww." She said.

"It's good though, I'll just FaceTime them when she about to come." He said.

"When did your water break?" She asked.

"Early this morning at 3:00 am." I said.

"I've been in labor for 10 hours already." I said groaning.

"It's part of motherhood baby." She said.

"My doctor said she should be coming about 4:00 pm." I said.

"Well that's not that long away." She said.

"She's going to be here pretty soon." I said.

"D'john you ready?" My mom asked.

"More than ready so she can stop blaming her attitude on my lil girl." He said.

She laughed.

I rolled my eyes.

"See look at her right now." He said turning the camera around.

"Go head D'john." I said.

He laughed.

(4:00 pm)

"Alright Ty'ana I need you to push okay sweetheart." My doula said.

I pushed.

"Okay her head is almost out." The doctor said.

"You got this ma." D'john said holding my hand.
