y/n pov

"y/n come on!"
wanda dragged me upstairs in her raincoat and wellies as I heard the rain pour outside.

"you're crazy, maximoff. you know that?"
she twirled in the rain as I stood in my dripping suit.

"dance with me!"
I shook my head in disbelief but made my way over to the middle of the roof. she grabbed my hands and we began to twirl together. she cheered as the rain hit harder and my clothes became heavier.

"you really are something else, maximoff"
she stopped dancing and stared into my eyes. we stared and stared until I sneezed and we headed inside. wanda went to shower as I stood outside the door. my stern look fell as I heard her hum a tune and a smile appeared on my face.

"y/n, you're shivering. have a shower"
I blew hotly into my hands and shook my head.

"i'll be fine. besides, I have to stay within a five meter radius of you at all times"

"but you'll get ill"

"miss maximoff, i'd rather have a little cold than let you get hurt"

y/n did in fact get very ill. she had refused to drink any blood around wanda and that resulted in her becoming completely vulnerable to human diseases and pain.

wanda pov

y/n had slept in the room next door per her request. she said she didn't want to impose my beauty sleep. but she hadn't woken up and it was 10am. normally, she'd be awake by six to get everything ready for me but it had been a few hours and I was bored.

I assumed she had slept in on accident but it was getting ridiculous so I knocked on the door.

"y/n?"
I waited a few seconds and entered to see she was still asleep.

"get up, you lazy doofus"
I pulled the covers from her and she groaned.

"y/n?"
I turned the light on with my powers and speed walked to her side. she was sweating profusely, tossing and turning as she murmured things.

"y/n? oh my god"
she whined when I touched her forehead and began to breathe heavily.

"you're burning up"
I panicked as I tried to cool her down but she pushed my hands away, trying to get up.

"no. I need to go"
I pushed her back down and she groaned. sweat poured down her face and neck, her shirt was drenched along with the sheets.

"you've got to rest and get better"
I ran to the bathroom and grabbed a towel to soak for her forehead. she sighed when I pat her face with the cool towel and closed her eyes.

"but...but I need to protect wanda"
I smiled and brushed her damp hair away from her face.

"wanda's safe. don't worry"
she shook her head and began to groan. it was like looking after a drunk toddler.

"no, I need to go to her now"
she tried to get up again, more determined this time. I stopped and rubbed my eyes, I could've sworn her eyes went red for a second.

"wanda told me to tell you that she is okay. she wants you to rest and get better for her"

"really?"
she asked tiredly and I sighed in relief.

"wanda's so lovely"
she marvelled like a child who looked up to her mother.

"it's hot in here"
she groaned and I frowned.

"I know"
I babied her softly and tugged at her shirt.

"do you want this off? you'll be cooler then" I helped her sit up and she ripped the top off of herself to reveal a black sports bra. her body was covered in scars that I hoped were only from her job.

"you have to sleep, y/n"

"no. I don't want to"
she shook her head lazily and groaned uncomfortably.

"please?"
I asked politely, she blinked slowly at my widened eyes.

"lie with me"
she muttered quietly while making space for me beside her.

"y/n..."
I hesitated slightly but she pouted cutely.

"please, wanda?"
her bottom lip quivered and I didn't want to see her cry so I climbed in with her.

"alright then"
her smile was intense as I wiped down her neck and body with the cold cloth but she snuggled into me and sighed.

"you're cold"
she grabbed my hands and put them onto her cheeks.

"tired"
she whispered before she fell asleep in my arms.

wanda pov

y/n hummed as she entered the room, smiling towards me and sitting down on the couch before ruffling my hair as a greeting.

"so you're feeling better?"
I noticed her cheeks weren't a tomato red anymore and were lighter in colour.

"much, thanks"
she nodded and resumed humming as we watched whatever was on the tv.

"can we do something today?"

"what do you mean by that"
she smirked at me and I shoved her away, she laughed.

"no but seriously, let's do something"

"like what?"

"let's go to the park"

"the park?"
she spat in disgust.

"yes the park. we can just walk around and look at the flowers"
she stared in disbelief as she mostly did when I said things that amazed her.

"alright, let's go"

the park had actually been fun. a man had been selling balloons for fifty cents each and we bought a few. wanda skipped around with her Minnie Mouse and hello kitty balloons which I thought suit her personality very well. she made me buy a Mickey Mouse one.

we walked along the sidewalk to reach the ice cream van across the street. wanda insisted we get me a treat for my birthday. I tried to remember that I was her bodyguard and I had to remind myself that I still had to protect her.

a car came racing towards us, splashing a puddle along its way. before the murky water could hit wanda, I held her and let the water hit my back. I groaned as the wet mud ran down my spine and wanda gasped.

"what in the hell did you do that for?!"
she exclaimed in horror.

I only smiled broadly.
"bodyguard, remember?"
