19. Jealousy Looks Cute On You

       Lake and Min-Jun slowly pulled away. Min-Jun had a wide smile, happy that his dream came true. Lake on the other hand had her eyes wide opened. She was shocked by what had just happened.

       "Y-You... I-I... w-why did you do that?" Lake stammered through her words. She did not know what to do or say so she just evaded making eye contact with Min-Jun.

       A tiny smirk formed at the corner of Min-Jin's lips. He found Lake's reaction amusing and cute. He gently stroked his finger under chin and lifted her head up.

       "For the same reason that I rushed you away from Owen," Min-Jun said but this only made Lake's confusion grow. "I like you Lake."

       "You—" she pointed at Min-Jun then at herself. "—like me?"

       Min-Jun nodded as he wrapped his arm around Lake and brought her closer. He used his left hand to stroke her cheek while the other remained around her waist.

       "I would never kiss Olivia willingly," Min-Jun said in a soft voice. "Especially not after everything she and Owen did to you. Please believe me Lake. It is you I like... only you."

       Lake finally looked into Min-Jun's espresso brown eyes. She could tell that he was being genuine and her heart fluttered with joy. A smile finally creeped onto her lips.

       "I like you too," she confessed.

       "Good," Min-Jun grinned as he rested his forehead on hers. "So, will you become my girlfriend? For real this time?"

       Lake nodded her head. Happy with her answer, Min-Jun leaned down and laid his lips on her once again. Lake squealed into the kiss as Min-Jun picked her up and spun her around.

"I believe the walls are not going to paint themselves," the two groaned as they turned to face Professor García. He looked at them with arms crossed over his chest and one eyebrow lifted. "And the trash is not going to run along into the garbage can.

"Umm—we were just dusting off the book shelves," Lake chuckled nervously while Min-Jun grabbed a nearby book and began blowing the invisible dust off of it.

Professor Garcia's lips pressed into a hard line. "Get back to work before I add another day of community service!" He barked.

       The two teenagers muffled their snorting and rushed out of the professor's sight. As they reached the courtyard, Min-Jun hugged Lake from behind and placed a kiss on the top of her purple hair. His now official girlfriend giggled at his actions.

       Owen and Olivia both wore sour frowns. Ayla and Jordan walked out and they both shared a look of amusement. Ayla wanted to be mad at Lake for forgiving Min-Jun, but deep down she knew it was Olivia who was behind the scandal from earlier.

       "Do you want to come over today?" Min-Jun asked as Lake and him swung their interlocked hands back and forth. The lover birds walked toward Lake's car with huge grins. "Ara has been asking about you."

Lake nodded eagerly.

"Should we bring her some ice cream and candies?" She suggested.

       Min-Jun's lips puckered into a pouty frown. Lake's eyebrows furrowed together confused by his expression.

       "At this rate, my sister will like you better than me," he said and this caused his girlfriend to chuckle.

"You are such a drama Queen," Lake teased as they stepped into the car. "Who would have thought the serious and broody Min-Jun Park was actually a funny softie?"

"Only because I met you," Min-Jun's love-filled gaze sent Lake over the moon. His dreamy expresso eyes caused the butterflies in her stomach to begin fluttering about.

Lake never thought she would feel this way again. She was scared, but she knew that Min-Jun was not Owen. He would not hurt her.

       The two remained in a comfortable silence as Lake drove toward the nearby ice cream shop. Every now and then she would glance at Min-Jun, her beloved boyfriend. She focused back on the road with a happy smile.

       "You should try the Blackberry Bananza," Lake suggested as the pair stepped out of the car and walked into the ice cream shop.

       Despite Lake's enthusiasm, Min-Jun wiggled his nose in disapproval. He was not a huge fan of blackberries. Strawberries on the other hand were his favorite. The two stepped into the cool building.
There were five different coolers filled with various flavors.

       "Welcome to Danny's Dandy Ice Cream," the teenage boy greeted with an overly happy tone despite his bored expression.

Min-Jun frowned upon seeing the familiar face. It was Paolo Rodríguez—the town's playboy. Innocently, Lake grinned up at Paolo.

"Hey, can I have the Blueberry Bananza?" She asked and Paolo examined her with a mischievous smirk.

"Of course gorgeous," he said as he walked over to scoop up the flavor Lake asked for. As he handed Lake the cone, he intentionally brushed his fingers against hers causing Min-Jun's frown to grow.

       "How about you?" Paolo's tone had lost its friendliness as his attention turned to Min-Jun.

       "I'll take the same as my girlfriend," Min-Jun wrapped his arm around Lake possessively with a smirk on his face. "And a strawberry shortcake."

       Paolo rolled his eyes and walked toward the freezer to scoop out Min-Jin's order. Lake could not help but me amused by the sudden shift in Min-Jun's demeanor.

       "Jealousy looks cute on you," Lake murmured with a playful smirk and Min-Jun rolled his eyes as he tried to contain his small smile.

Heyyyyyy! I am still alive! I know I haven't updated this novel in ages, but here I am. I am ready to start wrapping up my unfinished novels on this account. I am hoping to have a chapter uploaded every Sunday for you guys. I will try my best, but I am also working on two other novels on my other account so bare with me. Lake and Min-Jun are finally together and our little Minnie is getting jealousy. What do you guys think of this chapter? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
