Poem 20: When We Were Kids

When we were kids, we’d laugh and play
When we were kids, we didn’t listen to what they say
We were free
We loved everything we would see
We would fly, we would cry
But now we want to die…
Colors drain
Numb in the brain
Creativity lost
Stollen with a cost
We don’t laugh and we don’t play
We follow every little thing they say
With a fake smile
I stand for a while
Wishing to go back to the day
When everything was okay
When we were kids
