My Love, Goodbye

I knew from the start that this time machine would get me into trouble. They even warned me.

My top priority on things I wanted to do with this machine was to travel back so I could meet the Beatles. Obviously, that's been fulfilled...more than fulfilled. I'd say I'm satisfied, but I'm also aware of all of the chaos and creation I've caused.

Oh no, what did I do?

I wake up the next morning in partial fear. I wonder, what could've changed in that amount of time?

I never thought that I would want my favorite band in the entire world to leave me. Isn't this what you wanted? What have you become?

I'm the only one awake. Typical.

And once again, I seem to have attracted all four of them whilst I slept. Dream come true. Too bad it has to go away.

"Morning..." George groans in a deep, groggy morning voice. In that accent, it was heaven. His eyes fluttered, fighting the sleepy feeling. I ruffle his hair a bit to wake him up.

One by one, they begin to arise on their own, all except for John, who needed some assistance from the others.

I gesture to the open door. "Well boys, the time has come. Everything's ready, come on..."

Ringo frowns. "We have to leave now?"

"Um, yes you have to leave. What have we been working on for the past few days?"

"But what if we don't want to leave?" John remarks.

"You don't have a choice. The world is already screwed up as is, and the longer you're not there, the worse it gets."

I hate having to kick them out like this, but it's for the greater good.

"Y/N?"

"Yes, George?"

"We're sorry. We've caused way too much trouble for everyone, haven't we?"

"Yeah, but I'll fix it."

George led the others into the machine. At least he made it easier on me. They all looked rather jumpy inside of it.

"Oh, the adventures we've had together, Y/N. Just imagine if we all fell in love with you."

John rolled his eyes. "No, Paul, that's another story."

That was my breaking point. Good thing too, because they had pressed the button and had finally returned to 1964.

Tears had come to my eyes. They had only been gone mere seconds, but I already miss them.

And now, as I check what I have changed in the world, I have actually done something for the better.

Hayman's Green is actually getting recognition in the charts. That is something that would never, ever happen nowadays. And it's Pete Best. Pete Best. That's what I've changed. Oh dear...

George's POV

Hiding in a trash filled alleyway never felt so good.

These phone booths never felt so much like home.

Y/N was a sweetie. She protected us from the girls bombarding us now.

But now I realize that there's a reason for all of this. And Y/N showed us everything.

Sure, my ears are ringing and I don't have much space to move.

But you know what?

It's good to be back.
