Bellamy Blake
The Civil Wars - Devils Backbone
Now I think that this song was specifically made for Bellamy Blake. Ever since Bellamy's sister, Octavia, was born, Bellamy had much more responsibility than the average kid. Bellamy is walking on a tightrope and one false step could send him falling. "Oh Lord, Oh lord, he's somewhere between a hangman's knot and three mouths to feed." A lot of Bellamy's childhood was running around after his sister and keeping his familiy afloat, although there wasn't a lot he could do; he did what he could.
Finn Collins
Frou Frou - Holding Out For a Hero
This song is known worldwide by Bonnie Tyler but the 'Frou Frou's take on the universal song is quite dark. It's a little slower, gloomier yet you can't stop listening to it. This song describes Finn because he's someone you can always depend on; Finn can be either your knight in shining armor or could disappoint you completely. And this song is somehow mocking him, in a way. "I need a hero, I'm holing our for a hero to the end of the night. And he's gotta be strong and he's gotta be fast and he's gotta be fresh from the fight."
John Murphy
The 1975 - Me
This song is so heartbreaking and complicated... a lot like Murphy. He is such a complex person; he is feared, praised and respected. But for all the wrong reasons, which ties in with the lyrics of the song. One of the most used lyrics in the song is"Don't you mind ..." and I think that it represents everything the person has done but no one has questioned it. Therefore I think Murphy believes that because of his past he could do what he wanted; he was power hungry to start off with. Overtime Murphy consistently kept doing the wrong thing and he wanted to fight - he wanted a fight.
Jasper Jordan
Arctic Monkeys - Perhaps Vampires Is a Bit Strong But...
Okay so the title of the song is highly misleading; it isn't a song about vampires, at all. If you listen to the song and really think about the lyrics, it's quite easy to decipher. The whole song is aimed towards the older generations; calling them out on everything they do to the younger generations. Mocking them on wanting to be successful or take risks for their future. "I know you pretend to stand by us, I know you're certain we'll fail." I feel as though Jasper hasn't had much encouragement for his interests and that area has brought him down so much.
Monty Green
Florence + the Machine - My Boy Builds Coffins
I think this song in a way, represents Monty. In the show he's a person that many disregard but he's (kind of) essential for their survival (before Raven had shown up). I guess it's just my opinion but I relate Monty to this song. It's upbeat but when you listen to what she's saying, it's such a downer. And I think that people need to look into Monty's personal experience and milestones. "My boy builds coffins, he makes them all day but it's not just for work and it isn't for play. He's made one for himself, one for me too. One of these days he'll make one for you."
