Before the war is very similar to how it was in aligned with the south being fairly poor and full of slaves in the energon mine while the north was much richer. However there are two important characters to note, that aren't in the canon, Astroll and Spinestra. Astroll is a very rich mech who owns most of the military industrial complex and owns the fleets of cybertron. Spinestra runs slaughter city like it is her personal fiefdom and owns a large portion of the southern mines, making her wealthy, but hated.
