Both of them had moved on, at least that's what Hope kept telling herself. It's been a couple of months since Germany and Hope felt as frustrated as ever. How could Scott do this to her? She hated him more then words could describe. She hated him for costing her her freedom, for running of to Germany... for breaking her heart.
However even though Hope hated Scott she somehow always ended up in front of his house door. No matter how hard she tried not to, she could not prevent herself from missing him too. He was a jerk but he was her jerk. So here she was, once again standing in front of his door debating whether to knock or not. She was being delusional, she knew that Scott couldn't care less about her but her emotions always got the best of her.
It was a Monday night so Cassie wouldn't be there... she would be all alone with Scott, Hope observed. That thought had something pleasing yet so terrifying to it, that she decided to call it a night and walk home.
Even though it was a dark outside Hope still wore her disguise "a hat and sunglasses". She was risking so much by coming here...
During the next couple of weeks Hope managed to keep her mind of Scott. Her and Hank had been very busy adding the final touches to the quantum tunnel, this way Hope had something much more important to think about then her failed relationship.
It was on a Wednesday night that Hank and Hope decided to try to open the quantum tunnel for the first time. And it worked...at least for the slightest second the gateway to the quantum realm was open...before powering down completely. Hank cursed under his breath, multiple circuits were damaged during the process ,fixing them would take ages, they could just as well start a new. In other words: the tunnel was a waste of time.
"Dad well figure something out," Hope reassured him trying to convince herself too.
This could not be the end... they were so close. She could not give up on her mother, not if there is even the slightest chance that she might be alive. Might... Hope could feel tears stinging her eyes.
Hank was to devastated to pay any attention to Hope and left the room without another word. Hope was left all alone...once again. She remembered all the times she felt this way, images of her childhood flashing in front of her, Hope felt as if stuck in a void. Her vision became blurry tears threatening to fall. Was there really no other way to save her mom? She needed someone to reassure her someone to comfort her, someone who entered the quantum realm and managed to return.
Of course one person popped into her head immediately, Scott Lang.
Hope didn't care that it was 1 o'clock in the morning, once again she found herself standing in front of Scott's door this time however actually knocking.
"Luis I already told you ten times to stop showing up this early," she could hear Scott groan opening the door.
"Well good thing I'm not Luis," Hope snapped surprised by the sudden anger rising inside of her.
Scott just realized who he was talking to immediately feeling awake he stared at Hope in disbelieve.
"H-Hope? What are you doing here? You do know that it's 1 am? Are you sleepwalking? I mean not that it's a bad thing you showed up-I'm just surprised that's all", Scott started rambling.
"We need to talk," Hope said as a matter of fact trying to supress the angry tone in her voice.
"Look I'm very sorry about-"
"Not about Germany. About my mom."
Scott grew more confused with every word they shared. Hope however couldn't care less and entered his house, without asking for permission.
"You entered the quantum realm," Hope said frantically waving her hands around while walking in circles," and you came out." She came to a stop in front of Scott. "How did you do it?"
Scott knew she was mad at him she had every right too. Scott also wished that he could help. But he couldn't.
"Hey look I'm sorry for what happened between us and I wish I could help you out, but I can't remember anything," Scott whispered slowly placing his hand on her arms. He stared in her eyes the ones he got lost in so often, his glance then wondered towards Hope's hair, she had started to grow her hair out and it made her look even more beautiful.
"But you went inside Scott- please just tell me how you-," Hope's voice cracked and tears started flowing down her cheeks. Everything hurt so much. Scott was startled he tried forming words but his mouth wouldn't open. He had never seen Hope so upset.
Finally he managed to put his arms around her embracing her in a heartfelt hug. "I'm so sorry Hope, I really am." Hope did not answer , at least not in words, she just hugged him back burying her head in his shoulder. This gesture made Scott's heart jump, he missed her so much.
Eventually Hope raised her head to face Scott. "Me and dad were building a tunnel to the quantum realm... to my mom. However we failed... and I know it's unlikely that she could be alive but I needed something to believe in," Hope clarified her voice still shaking.
Scott's heart ached for Hope, if only he could make her pain disappear. "Hope... I- I don't know what to say...," Scott stuttered once again in loss of words. Hope noticed his distress and decided that she had been wrong. None of them moved on, they still were in love.
Hope loves Scott and Scott loves Hope. That was the truth so why not embrace it? Closing the little distance there faces had, she went in for a kiss.
Please consider that this is my first time writing on Wattpad or just writing romance stuff in general...so yes I know it isn't very good... I'll be accepting request and would love some feedback and suggestions for improvement! :)
