Authors pov After saving the girl from potentially a severe case of hypothermia the girl falls into a coma. Navier comes every day to visit the child. She sits on the chair near her bed and talks to her. she feels a certain connection to the child she doesn't know why. She wants to protect her hold her close tell her that everything is alright.
Navier yearns for the day the child will wake up
after 3 days
the girl wakes up all confused and scared there are so many questions swarming in her mind where is she? Is she back again in the palace? Did Claude bring her back? What's going to happen now?
She is brought out of her train of thoughts when an ethereal fairy-like woman enters the room
"am I in heaven?" Athanasia wondered out loud
"hi sweetheart, you are finally up I'm so glad that you woke up I was getting worried!" Navier coaxed
"Uh hi miss where am I ?"
She is confused about what is happening why is she here?
" You are in the empress palace darling!" "T-the e-mpress palace??" Athanasia is startled
"How did I get here?" She asks
"I found you almost half-dead on a bench in an abandoned park"
"oh" that's all She could say
this fairy-like woman had saved her from dying
"you should have just let me die, no one cares anyway" She scoffed bitterly
"now don't you say that child I'm here I've come to care for you I would love to keep you here" Navier pats her head and hugs her
Athanasia just bursts out crying she has never felt this parental warmth from Claude or lily
"There there you can cry all you want" Navier whispers to Athanasia still hugging her and calming her down
After Navier calms the child down
She asks "what's your name sweetheart?" "My name is Athanasia"
"Oh my, what a lovely name you've got!" Navier exclaims
Athanasia blushed no one ever complimented her name or treated her this way except her maids
"T-thank you miss"
"Oh, darling no need to call me to miss you can just call me Navier okay?" She says to Athanasia
"Ok-kay Mi- no Navier"
"Now darling may I ask what you were doing in the park all alone?"
"I escaped from my family" "they were about to kill me" she whispers with teary eyes
Navier just hugs the child
"Baby it's okay hmm would you like to stay here with me and my husband? I assure you you would be safe from your family" Navier says soothingly
"Do you promise?"
Navier looks at the child
"I promise I would do everything in my power to keep your family away from you!"
