Chapter 40:

Emma’s POV: It’s been an hour since Niall has left and I’m bored out of my mind. I decided to turn on the Xbox and play some games.

Eventually I got bored of that too and decided to call Niall.

“Hey babe is everything ok?”

“Yeah I’m just really bored. How’s the rehearsal going?”

“Good actually.”

“Hey Niall where do you want the-”

“Hush!” I hear some commotion in the background.

“What was that all about?”

“Umm nothing, look I have to go but I’ll see you in an hour to pick you up! Love you.”

I got off the phone and decided to turn off the T.V and go shower.

Niall’s POV:  “Liam! You almost ruined the surprise!”

“I’m sorry I didn’t know you were on the phone.”

“What do you need?”

“I wanted to know where you wanted us to put the billboard.”

“Um, put it on the side so it’s visible.” Everything is perfectly set up and I’m off to get Emma so she can have the night of her life.

“I’ll be back in a half an hour! Make sure nothing happens to anything!”

“Don’t worry Niall everything is safe.” I grabbed my keys and ran out of the arena.

Emma’s POV: I got a text from Niall saying he is on his way so I straightened my hair and put on my make-up.

I heard the door close and saw Niall in the door way.

“You ready to go?”

“Yeah.” He grabbed my hand and we walked out to the car.

“So is everything ready for the concert?”

“Yes.”

“It’s a bit strange to have it on Valentine’s Day no?”

“Not at all.” The rest of the car ride was silent.

We got to the arena and something was up with Niall. I was walking through the entrance and he freaked out on me saying we had to go through the back. I tried to see what it was like out on the stage but he said I wasn’t aloud up there.

“You alright Niall? Your acting really different.”

“Yeah why wouldn’t I be?”

“I don’t know.”

“I’ll be right back I have to go get changed. Stay here don’t move.” He kissed me and walked to his dressing room. I say Liam walking past buy and decided to talk to him.

“Hey Liam can I talk to you?”

“Yeah, what’s up?”

“Niall is acting different, he seems all jittery and not really himself. Do you know anything that is making him this way.”

“Umm, no I don’t sorry..” I walked away and sat down waiting for Niall.

“5 minutes till opening! 5 Minutes!” Niall finally walked out of the dressing room and met up with me.

“Sorry it took me so long.”

“No it’s fine.” The crowd could be heard from the far back of the arena. Niall wouldn’t let me near because he said it’s way too crazy and he doesn’t want me to get hurt. I was on twitter when I heard my name.

“Emma! Emma come out here!” I got up from my set to see Louis walking towards me.

“Come on lets go.”

“Where are we going?”

“There is a surprise for you.”  I walk out onto the stage to see hundreds of screaming fans. I look up to see decorations everywhere. It was amazing, except for this one billboard that wasn’t working. Niall walked over to me and grabbed my hand.

“Emma Ann Skeen, you’re the most amazing girl in the world, your funny, sweet, beautiful, and your everything I need. You put a smile on my face when I see you, you mean everything to me and I want you to always mean everything to me. Emma.. Will you marry me?” I see the billboard turn on with the question in bright pink lights and the crowd is silent. Niall goes down on one knee and pulls out this beautiful diamond ring.

I was speechless, I tried speaking but nothing was coming out. I nodded my head, “Yes!” The billboard shows in bold letter my answers and the crowd screams. He picks me up and gives me a big kiss. He slid on the ring and I started to cry.

“Let’s get this concert going!” Harry yelled into his microphone and the crowd goes crazy. I walk off the stage and still in complete shock. I cannot believe this just happened...
