Cʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ 1 :: Tangled Destinies

Y/n groaned, "I'm so tired today. Damn it, I miss my bed so much." She muttered to herself as she trudged along the familiar path home. The whole day had been spent hanging out with her best friends, Kang Minhyuk and Ha Jiwon. They were her childhood friends, and after not seeing each other for weeks, they had finally reunited for a long-overdue hangout session.

"I'm back, Mom," Y/n announced, kicking off her sandals as she entered the house. "It was so much fun today," she added with a tired but content smile

"Good to know, honey," her dad replied from the living room, where he was engrossed in watching TV

Y/n/d: Good to hear, princess!

Y/n: I'm feeling quite exhausted now. I'll be heading to bed

Y/n/m: Listen, make sure to wake up early tomorrow!

Her mother's smile held a hint of mysterious anticipation, leaving Y/n feeling puzzled

Y/n: What do you mean, Mom?

Y/n/m: Tomorrow, Mr. and Mrs. Kim, along with their son, will be visiting our home

Y/n: I see. Good night, then...

Unaware of what tomorrow would bring, Y/n assumed they were simply coming over for a casual visit. She knew her father and Mr. Kim shared a strong bond, being best friends for a long time, so she didn't think much of it.

-Y/n POV-

My eyes fluttered open as the warm rays of the sun gently kissed my face, coaxing me out of sleep. With a yawn, I stretched and went through my morning routine, feeling the comforting familiarity of the Sunday routine settle in. With no plans to venture out, I opted for a casual ensemble, slipping into a pair of shorts and a loose top before making my way downstairs

Y/n: Morning, Mom and Dad!

Y/n/d: Good morning, sweetie

I greeted my parents cheerfully, exchanging kisses and smiles with them

Y/n/m: Y/n! Go to my room, there's a dress on the bed. Go ahead and wear it! Hurry up...

Curiosity piqued, I questioned, "Why, Mom? Are we going somewhere?"

Y/n/m: I mentioned last night that Mr. Kim's family is coming. Jeez, did you forget?

Realization dawned on me. "Oh, yeah. Sorry!" I exclaimed sheepishly, hurrying off to her room to find the dress my mother had prepared

After slipping into the dress and getting ready, I made my way downstairs to my parents

Y/n: Well, what do you think? How do I look?

Y/n/m: Wahh, it fits you well!

Y/n/d: As always, you are looking beautiful, sweetie!

I smiled gratefully at him, feeling a warmth spread through me at his compliment

The gentle chime of the doorbell echoed through the house

Dad immediately headed towards the main door and swung it open

Y/n/d: Welcome, Mr. Kim!

He and Mr. Kim embraced each other warmly, their longstanding friendship evident in the heartfelt hug. Following suit, Mrs. Kim and my mom shared a warm embrace, their laughter echoing in the air
