when he was younger maeve would mostly just get picked on and was named a lot of things so he grew up apprehensive and only ever started to actually be more out spoked with "help"  that's when he met robin and steve at scouts ahoy in season 3 thought he still struggles when things get too intense.

-personality-
maeve is a more conservative reserved person during the second season and in the the third and fourth season he becomes more out and more confident in himself which causes him to even act goofy sometimes. before he was pretty fidgety but as the show went on he developed a more soft and calm persona but he still worried sometimes.
